Supposedly it's a slow burn, atmospheric tension building type horror movie, which is what I love, so I'm pumped.
it looks really cool and i'll end up watching it, but the part where the kid stops and pulls out the crazy loud toy kind of irks me. like, why does he even have that if you're being stalked by creatures that hunt off of sound
it's more that it's a toy that makes a fuckton of noise in an environment where making noise is literally fatal. kinda think if you're a parent in that situation, the first thing you do is confiscate the noisy toys it's whatever. the movie is gonna be awesome and i won't die on this hill
I want to go see it but I hate scary movies because I’m a pussy but I want to support Krasinski because I think he is awesome and got a raw deal in The Office by being attached to Pam difficult decision here
The actual filming of this was crazy apparently. The locals from the town next door all have AIDS, but don't know it, and no one has the heart to tell them.
I also assume that the woman got pregnant before these noise-hunting animals became a threat, otherwise that seems like a completely avoidable conflict. I'm sure it's well made and the concept is novel, but this screams "gimmick" to me.
My wife hates scary movies so we compromised and will be seeing it middle of the day on a weekend so it's not dark and scary out when we leave the theater.
Unless its an unbelievable oversight you can work that into the script pretty easily and believably. Family stumbles upon abandoned farm, kid goes into another kids room, sees that on the shelf and puts it in his backpack. Having never played with it before he pulls it out at an inopportune moment.
I suspect this movie will garner undue praise because of Krasinski...similar to the phenomenon of people being guilted into pretending that Get Out was great
First, we get it you didn’t like Get Out. 2nd, Get Out was really damn good. And 3rd, I have no clue what parallel you are trying to make here.
Obviously it won’t have the white guilt factor, but there will be a similarly vapid response when you imbeciles celebrate Jim from the office being an artist
Not sure which part of the filming you’re referring to, but I did find it weird that they filmed a small part of it in Little Falls. This despite a majority of it apparently taking place a decent distance away.
Might just have to sign up early for MoviePass since it now costs an absurd $9.50 for a matinee showing at my local theater.
