Fuck off, bud. There's only room enough for one movie cunt on this here board. And your takes aren't cunty, they're just shitty.
Dairy Queen is that guy that watches movies to find flaws in it. That is pretty sad, never understood that mentality. Are you in the business ?
I liked this movie better when M Nightlight Shamalamadingdong did it in 2002 with Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix. Swing away Merrill or amplify your hearing aid. Crazy how disabilities (asthma in Signs/hearing loss in AQP) become abilities in apocalyptic situations. Was alright, but Signs was better.
Also, if it’s widely enough known that noise kills that roughly 25 national newspapers Jim has plastered on his basement wall are reporting it, you think they ever considered shutting off the printing presses?
I had a bigger issue with the fact that if they knew sounds like rushing water drowned out their voices, why are they not living by the water.
Liked the story and setup a lot, think the execution left a bit to be desired. Solid movie but maybe my hopes were too high after the rt score. Spoiler First appearance of the monster was scary as fuck and amazing, think it went a bit downhill from there. There was a lady that was at least 7 months pregnant in the theater, can only imagine what she was thinking
Saw it last night. Thought it was great. I would recommend not sitting in front of a row of teenagers who are incapable of being quiet for an hour and a half during a movie full of very quiet scenes though.
I'm well aware of the old man vibe that post put off. I've always hated movie talkers though. Go do something else if you want to talk.
Had a similar experience this morning when I saw it. The couple next to me were whispering and laughing through a majority of the film. And the dude opened a fucking can of soda about 30 minutes in. Really enjoyed the movie otherwise, though.
Even as a teen I would yell at other kids my age to stfu during the movie. It’s one of my pet peeves.
Would have liked it better if the weakness was less obvious, but I suppose that would have been too close to War of the Worlds.
I completely agree I personnaly like to see a movie once even if I don’t enjoy it but going back and screaming what is going to happen in the theater makes it worth my while. Just kidding, but I am a terrible terrible guy to watch a movie with. I am that type who wants to show everyone that I can guess what is going to happen next. I annoy myself sometimes
Saw it last night. It was alright but pretty easy to figure out the plot resolution within like 30-45 minutes.
Saw it last night. It's technically impressive; the shots were nice and atmospheric, the sound editing was really neat, and the chemistry between the characters was pretty good. Story-wise, it's pretty clear this is the work of a less-experienced writer, but if Krasinski sticks with it I think he can be a very good moviemaker.
No but it made it less enjoyable. It was a pretty good flick; my expectations were probably higher than they should have been for this genre.
Horror/suspenseful movies don’t have great writing in general what makes them great are the scenes thats why you see hacks like Stephen King dominate the lowest form of writing
Spoiler What’s funny is how important the toy acquisition scene ended up being in the plot’s development
