I'm going to hate watch this show until Carrie ends up as a lumberjack. Also I love the sister's husband that just shits on Carrie.
If the whole season is a manhunt for a radio personality that is running a shadow govt I might be done. Previews for the season looked shitty as hell.
What is even worse is my roommate just randomly started season 1 so I have been watching with him. I have often told people how great season one was but I now retract that statement.
Season one is great. Just stop them after season four and everything is fine. Somehow just commandeer their viewing near the end of season 4 and convince them it's the end.
Well my favorite part of the show was the fact that her hacker made himself known and just happened to be in the same city as her so she could conveniently go there and trick him and then beat the fuck out of him. It made so much sense. My guess is she somehow needs the hacker to help her with something. Otherwise what was the point of introducing him, unless he blackmails her somehow still. Just do dumb.
I didnt mind some of the other seasons after Brody died as some of you. This season is brutally bad so far though. Get the fuck out of the USA and bring Quinn back to go after real terrorists.
Yeah, I would be completely fine if they just acted like she never had a daughter and wasnt crazy and just totally omitted those storylines going forward.
I turned to my wife at the very beginning of the episode and I asked who is Saul going to get kidnapped by this year. This show is so bad. I am not sure why I keep watching it.
I don't get what this show is trying to accomplish... Is the message if you are bi-polar you are incapable of having a job and your life goes of the rails? If you have PTSD you have to become a junkie and kill yourself? I don't understand why they go out of the way to portray specific mental illnesses in such a bad light. If they are just throwaway B and C plots they certainly dominated and ruined the show.
So the kid raises his gun at the FBI guys and one of them shoots him. Another officer runs several yards up to him to see if he’s okay and suddenly he is taken hostage by 10 guys who just magically appear in the field and the FBI team didn’t see them approaching? Yeah, okay.
Best episode in a long time. And with minimal Carrie. But yes the red neck militia just appeared out of thin air.
I am confused. What is the motivation of Carrie's team to take this mission on if they are not sanctioned by the government?
That's inline with what I meant above. Why? No money, no authority, no safety or security, no fucking way.
That was the whole point of the scene when she went to get the first guy. They were currently out of work and bored/acting out. Those guys are so locked into that work that it’s all they know/do. So it seemed to me they were just up for running an op.
Far and away the only good episode this season. I'm amazed I still watch this show, but this weeks episode at least gave me a reason to want to watch.
Frannie has become Brody after season the first season (maybe after the second if you want to be really nice). Just an annoyance. The show would be so much better if it was 90% CIA stuff and 10% her dealing with how bipolar affects her ability to do her CIA stuff. The family stuff doesn't add anything. Doesn't humanize her, doesn't add to suspense or plot... just filler IMO.
100% agree. Everyone knows what this show is. If the next episode we just never see Frannie or the family again it would be fine.
I agree that Frannie is annoying, but the family does add a bit to Carrie IMO. It shows us how she prioritizes her work over everything and what shitty decisions it leads her to make. They could certainly scale it back. Which it seems they've written themselves an opening to do.
Claire Danes apparently said in a Howard Stern interview that the 8th season of Homeland (next year) will be her last. HBO may relaunch series with a new cast, but haven't decided that yet.
