Herbie just said that he felt Mayfield was the next Brees. He usually doesn't say stuff that's out there like that unless he really believes it... I just can't see it. Also, didn't know that Baker ran a 4.81-4.85 40 time .... that is very surprising.
No one ever does for any team. It's why I never pay attention to a single mock draft. No one knows and the talent evaluators across the league are nearly equally as clueless.
while I'd rather take him, if he is not on their board, they better be trading that pick for a kings ransom to someone who does want rosen
Our best hope is that teams try to move up for QBs I’m hoping for one of Edmunds, Smith, James or Fitzpatrick but even having one of those four left when we pick seems like a longshot.
Those 4, 4 QBs, Saquon, Chubb, Nelson. 1 of those 4 has to be on the board, and I’d add Ward to the mix. Of those 12 they should get one. Fuck vea, mcglinchy, or whatever. P.s. I’d be down for Lamar Jackson at 11
I like him better than Allen, and Rosen’s injuries worry me. I’d rather reach on LJ and see what Gase can do with him than those 2. Should still be one of the other 12 players ups there first
If for some reason buffalo doesn’t trade up there might be some legit interest from teams like LAC etc to trade up to our spot to get ahead of buff to take a QB
MIAMI DOLPHINS Biggest Need: Tight End If head coach Adam Gase could, he’d play every snap in a 3x1 formation with the tight end as that “1” alone on the weak side. That formation renders the defense predictable and sets up complex route combinations on the three-receiver side. Last year Gase tried to recreate the prosperity he had with this in Denver by trading for Julius Thomas, but it didn’t take. Now Thomas is gone and Miami needs someone who can split out wide. MarQueis Gray, A.J. Derby and Gavin Escobar are all backup line-of-scrimmage tight ends. Hidden Need: Offensive Tackle Miami needs a guard… but they already have one of the league’s best in Laremy Tunsil. He dominated there as a rookie in 2016 before struggling at his “natural” left tackle position in 2017. Drafting a tackle could kick Tunsil back inside, upgrading two positions. Or, the new tackle could be a replacement for right tackle Ja’Wuan James, whom the Dolphins optioned-in for a fifth year but don’t seem keen on extending long-term.
Take Goedert or Geseki tomorrow night. Apparently they like Chris Herndon as well, but he's a day 3 guy. Would love Connor Williams on Day 2 as well if they were going to take a tackle.
Picks that’ll make me happy 1) trade back 2) smith/Edmunds 3) minkah Picks that won’t make me happy 1) Vita Vea 2) any DB at 11 not naked minkah or Derwin
As much as I’d dislike it, not being able to resist one of the QBs still being there wouldn’t surprise me
Also still holding our hope if the bills haven’t traded up and one those 4 QB’s is still there at 11 I’d pray a team like the saints or LAC give us a nice package to jump in front of them
1. Smith 2. QB not named Allen/trade down for a monster offer so someone else can get a QB. 3. Minkak 4. Edmunds 5. Trade down period The fuck everything list 1. DT/OL 2. Josh Allen 3. Reaching on anyone instead of trading down.
It’s not that he isn’t good I just think DT is probably about 5th on our list of needs and I think we can get a guy like hurst in the middle rounds if he medical drops him
I actually think we are going to be OK on the OL for the first time in years I'd be ok with drafting one in the middle rounds b/c Sitton is old, a longer term RG upgrade wouldn't be the worst thing ever, and maybe a developmental RT in case James sucks this year....maybe the rare versatile guy that could play RT/G would make some sense in the mid rounds. But considering the state of OL play in the league, I actually think the line should be at minimum solid.
Agreed. Outside of Nelson, there is no need to take an OL in round 1. Heck, a true freshman in Jonathan Garvin made McGlinchy his bitch when we played them. Want no part of that.
I'd absolutely love trading back but I just think that is too high for Evans. As you know I'm a Bama guy and while Evans was a good player, he played a shit ton but never had the impact of a McClain, Hightower, Mosley, or heck even Ragland. I know he is a different type LB that some of those guys but he just never had that star impact that other LBers we have had at Bama. Good but not great player, imo. Fitzpatrick was special, at least in college. I'm with the other poster, I'd love to see us take a more impact guy in the top 14 than a guy that's just good to solid. Obviously not a scout but I would be more comfortable taking him at the end of the first or second round. "BB likes him" is simply not a great reason. BB is the goat but when it comes to the draft he's been pretty damn hit or miss like a lot of the league.
