Man. Perfect. So many little things in the ep that said so much. So many things that have been built up to now that were either resolved and/or gave meaning to things that happened before.
Fuck In the parking lot of the law firm early in the ep Earn said “you should be headlining this tour”. Al said, “I should be, but I ain’t”. Once Al pointed out that the movers can’t take the golden gun, Earn threw it in his backpack and didn’t remember it was there until TSA b/c he was so stressed about making the flight on time. At that point Earn was ready to take Clark down so that Al could headline the tour. Luke took the fall in Clark’s place.
Of course he tweets this b/c it can be interpreted as they’re just leaving Atlanta for Europe. Don’t play w/ my emotions Lakeith
I’m worried about this as Lakeith is taking off, Brian Tyree is too and Glover is on another level already
Also.... http://variety.com/2018/tv/news/hiro-murai-atlanta-fx-1202806555/ We could easily be waiting until 2020 for season 3.
Used to work with a Nigerian dude, and I used to have a Nigerian doctor. Both of them were smug af about their Nigerian heritage. Hard to blame them tbh.
The season was great. Gotta think FX gives Glover the Noah Hawley and Louis CK treatment now and gives him as much time as he wants to do another season.
So was he trying to put the gun in Clark’s bag, and messed up by putting it in Luke’s bag? Also, when Alfred said “that’s the shit I’m talking about,” was he praising Earn or saying he’s fucking up?
he put it in clark's bag. clark's manager clearly took the fall. and i thought it was made pretty clear al was happy with what earn did
Ok that was my question too. It was really hard to hear the dialog. He said he saw what he did, but he acted really surprised when Clark mentioned the gun. That was because his manager took the fall I guess.
Yeah, I saw it as Earn trying to fuck Clark and Luke. Luke bit the bullet which opens up any number of future scenarios.
Yeah remember the episode started off with Earn telling Al that he should be headlining and Al replied he should but he's not. Earn went out of his comfort zone and did something risky to not only save his own ass but to take Clark down so Al would get to headline the tour.
yea it wasn't premeditated. he fucked up and forgot to get rid of the gun before they got to the airport. then once he was there and had very few options, he figured fuck it, I'm not taking the fall, let me pin this on Clark.
You miss understood he 100% forgot the gun but once he realized it was still in his bookbag the Earn move would have been to try delay boarding the plane and verbally try to figure a way out of it. Not do some David Cooperfield slight of hands move out in the open that would get someone else arrested.
He totally forgot about the gun, but once he realized it was there, all of the stuff that had been happening in his life (having to provide for Lottie, getting fired by Alfred) pushed him to do something extreme to survive. I guess he also realized that if he could pin it on Clark, he had a shot at Alfred headlining, but I doubt that was the primary driver for the move. I just think he was cornered and had to do something drastic.
Ofcourse Earn was trying so save his own ass because thats what niggas do and hes been doing it since middle school when he let another kid take the wrap for a fake FUBU. However Earn putting the piece in Clark bag was also about trying to make a play to do something right by Al who was fully expecting to fire him when they landed. If it didn't matter he wouldn't have mentioned to Al that the piece was in Clark bag imo.
Point of thought, right before they talk to Clark, Al says something like “black folk do what they have to to survive”. Are we just assuming Luke took the gun, or you think Clark dumped it on him, the same way Earn dumped it on Clark? Clark never mentions having possession of the gun, but saw it. TSA wouldn’t have just whipped it out and started waving it around for people to see. I think Clark didn’t want to tell Earn and Al than he pinned the gun on Luke.
Btw this line from Darius may have been the most powerful lines ever given in a show. “I see you learning. Well learning requires failure. Al’s just tryin’ to make sure you’re not failing in his life. Y’all both black, so that means y’all both can’t afford to fail.”
