Mother of God I just got bailed out so hard. For whatever reason told my GF i would ride with her to where she was getting her hair colored when i was drunk. Movie theatre just happened to be 200 yards away from her salon and luckily had a showing of Deadpool starting at the same time as her appointment. Thanos has blessed me on this day.
Finally saw IW. I really enjoyed it. Thor was awesome. I was shocked about Red Skull. Bucky being gone :( Con - I don't care for Mark Ruffalo though. His acting is odd and annoying with the confused look and tilt of his head in most scenes. Also almost no Hulk sucks.
It's an unpopular opinion but I mostly agree with you. I like Ruffalo and think he's a better fit for the ensamble than Norton, but he never comes across as a scientist in any way.
Deadpool stuff after seeing it today Spoiler - Domino. Damn. Loved everything about her. - The X-Force stuff was hilarious. - I don't think I've laughed harder in a theater in 10 years than I did during the small legs scene. That was perfect. - The buzz for the mid credits scene didn't disappoint at all. - The James Bond thing after Vanessa died with the credits and Celine's song was great. - Overall, I liked it, but also don't think it came all that close to matching the original (high bar, of course). I would compare this to the second GotG. Not as good as the original, which was damn near perfect, but had moments that were as good as the original so you kind of ignore some of the issues you might have with it. - One of the reasons for that was length, I think. The first one was 15 minutes shorter and just seemed to flow better. This felt like it kept stuff in because of jokes and one-liners, which were often funny, but kind of dragged scenes on a bit longer.
Seeing this many spoiliers is difficult to not click and read but I have will power until later on tonight when I go watch this with the wife. It's most unfortunate it's not on valentines day again since that was last years present. Guess it's same month as her birthday so should be a birthday present early .
Even knowing that they come back most likely, that video is brutal to anyone who has invested time in these movies. The question becomes was it intentional. If the DP folks worked with the MCU folks on the song and release date, etc. that's pretty awesome.
Saw Deadpool 2. Thoughts: Spoiler 1. There were some moments where I wanted the constant joking to stop and have some decent dialogue between the characters. 2. Loved Cable, but wish he had more lines. Great character and glad Brolin signed a four-picture deal to reprise his role so we see more of him. 3. I fucking loved how the members of X-Force were violently killed before they even hit ground. Great writing and great twist for audience who thought they would serve as important characters in the film. 4. I’m in love with Domino. 5. Good action, but I got kinda tired of Deadpool being destroyed and appearing in next scene perfectly fine. However it paid off with the baby legs sequence. 6. I grew up reading and watching X-Men so it was relieving to see this and feel like they saved the franchise. So awesome to see Collosus and Juggernaut kicking ass. 7. Was that Brad Pitt? 8. Loved they had the blackbird jet and X-Mansion included more this time around. 9. I was entertained and good movie.
Question about Cable: Spoiler The scene of him in the future mourning over his wife and child - we see in the foreground the look of destruction and anarchy and purple lights. Is that the future from days of future past with sentinels?
Spoiler love Deadpool using cables device to go back and save Vanessa along with them putting it as a throw away after credit scene because this is Deadpool and who gives a fuck about emotional moments and reunions. Save the girl and move on to more funny.
I want to believe this, but Fox has shown no ability to do this sort of foreshadowing. Unless Marvel/Disney is sure of licenses they’re about to have returned and are having current directors work things in, I’m chalking that up to either a director just making a reference for the sake of it, or a coincidence that fans want to be true. If Feige doesn’t have a hand in the setup of that storyline, then it’s either super fucked from the get-go, or will never happen.
I hoping for an Infinity Gauntlet line from Deadpool something like "you better not wipe out half the universe"
Spoiler I don't think it's foreshadowing. I think it's just a nod they threw in for Cable's backstory. They really can't do House of M justice without Scarlet Witch and they never introduced her on the Fox side. It's all moot anyway once the Disney deal goes through.
