I’m most worried about Real sitting back a bit for the first half hour, absorbing our attack and hoping we shoot our wad in the first half with no goals to show for it.

Madrid fans and media are cocky as fuck. Don't even think this will be a game. Hope their players feel the same way. This isn't a plucky bunker and counter team hoping to squeeze out a 1-0 win. If taken lightly we are able to blitz teams like few others can.

 

My daily affirmation today where I talk myself into us having a shot to win is that the only teams that can attack like we can this year that Madrid have played are Bayern and Spurs. Spurs beat and drew Madrid, Bayern should have won both games if their goalie wasn't actively helping Madrid. Even going back to the last 3 Finals they've won, Atletico twice and Juventus, both of those are defensive teams and sitting back against Madrid is like sitting back against City. Plus 35 year old Frank Ribery was running riot in both of those games. If Zidane shifts Casimero over towards Salah, Mane is going to get a lot of chance to get isolated one on one on the left side. Hopefully good Mane shows up.

 

FYI other than Kitro none of that is Madrid media. Two of the sources quoted are Barcelona newspapers.

That was a much bigger mismatch when you go back and look at the names on that 05 Milan team

 

It says "On to Kiev". It's a marketing tool to sell merchandise as they were available for purchase minutes after that match. They wore similar shirts when they clinched a spot in Lisbon, Milan and Cardiff. Klopp's using something like this as motivation is an incredible reach.

Again, literally nothing is coming from anyone even tangently associated with the club. Illini's inability to grasp that () and listing quotes from Spanish rags and Barcelona newspapers reinforces that point.
