It goes against every current gaming "trend." single player long campaign no multiplayer no micro transactions or loot boxes depth in story and sidequests. You see games like this and then games like battlefront that get priced the same at 60 bucks and its a god damn travesty that they are even considered to be on a similar stratosphere of gaming. And CDPR is a much smaller studio too.
All things considered, Witcher 3 should easily be considered a top 25 game of all time and potentially a top 10. It’s a once in a generation type game.
I'm pretty big on trashing on newer games in favor of older ones but Witcher 3 might be the most satisfying game ive ever played
Witcher 2 really wasn't that far off either. Sure 3 has brought the series to insane new heights, but the series from the beginning has been pretty untouchable and 3 was really the first time it got the spotlight it deserved.
Game is just an awesome balance of story, fighting and side quests. I could literally go into the game now and just explore Velen looking for loot and other shit for 3 hours. All in all, 10/10. Only 100 hours in, looking forward to binging a few nights this week. Banged anything I could so far.
i started playing again once i got an X. really just want to play the DLC cause i spent all my time on it on the PS4. there's an option for the DLC to use a pre-made character thats leveled up just for the DLC. i think i may go back and do that cause i just dont have the time to play through the whole game again, as much as i'd like to. too many other great games out now, and i dont have time for it all. #firstworldproblems
I've played through at least 4 times now. It's easily in my top 5 games of all time. Cant wait to see what they do with Cyberpunk.
It’s with a heavy heart I had to finally delete my Witcher saves off of my ps4, just taking up too much room. Sky point
I was on the road and my 5 year old son was at home melting down because he couldn't play Skylanders Trap Team. My wife was on the verge of having a migraine
I figured they aren't releasing any new Witcher 3 content and if they make a Witcher 4, I'll remember all the decisions I made anyway. I was really keeping the save files for sentimental value
Just finished up the main game, it was awesome. I got basically top of the line armor and sword through quests or roaming around (really early on) which made Skellige a breeze. Spent more time sailing around and traversing mountains and it was to the point where literally a couple sword swipes would wipe anything out. Outside of putting some oil on my swords I didn't really get into or understand the potion aspect of the game. Built them all up, just never used them. Onto expansion packs now!
Having to run up to the castle every time you need to visit the blacksmith is a pain in the ass, the picture has a fast travel point that doesn't exist.
I've been slowly doing my last playthrough. I made sure to finish Heart of Stone before sailing to Skellige to finish out the main quest line. Now my Geralt is decked out in Legendary Viper gear and ready to whoop Eredin's ass.
Because it’s a once in a generation type game I’m not the biggest action RPG fan but it’s possibly in my top 10 video games of all times, maybe top 5
Are the missions more of discovering the map type thing or does it actually suck you into the story? I hate the assassin creed series but love stuff like Dragon’s Age, Elder Scrolls, and Horizon
The main story will suck you in, but the side quests are what seperate this into top tier. You can also just walk around if you want and discover caves and other places. I loved DA:I and Witcher 3 is twice the game that is.
It’s story driven and there’s multiple stories that you’ll get sucked into, often during the same stretch of gameplay. Everything from a family squabble and finding out one of the relatives has a mutation to a haunted house. It has it all.
I paid full price plus the DLC day 1 and it was easily worth it. $20 is amazing for 100+ hours of super high quality game play. What system again? I have redownloaded it but want to check out the higher refresh now that they’ve updated it for the One X.
