It really couldn’t have gone better. Karius allows Bale to score to encouragr him to transfer to us and Ramos’ attack on Salah ensures he would never play for Real Madrid.
I honestly had no idea joe cole still plays soccer for the tampa bay rowdies. Holy shit at that google search
So good... I remember that was the first season I tried to make a point of watching an entire season of LFC on shitty streams. Once they took the Carling Cup a few years later, I thought we were in high cotton!
Danny Wilson is with the Colorado rapids. Wikipedia didn’t even feel like Nathan eccleston was worth being listed as a Liverpool player that year.
Stevie G had some lame ass anecdote about Cole dribbling a tennis ball with his feet at the World Cup and I was sold for about the first 20 min I saw him play, then I was done...
Joe Cole, as I remember, was still rated as an 81/82 on FIFA that year. I won the treble with his tidy passes feeding Jovanović and N'gog in the Carling Cup. Never played FIFA beyond 2 seasons, because I'd have to change the team and then it wouldn't be the I was supposed to like.
The idea we are going to pay a world record fee for Jack Butland is blowing my mind. I know at this point I should trust Michael Edwards but that’d be a tough pill to swallow.
A world-record fee - but only in sterling. Gianluigi Buffon's world-record move for a goalkeeper from Parma to Juventus in 2001 was reported to be worth 53m euros, or £32.6m at the time. But at current exchange rates, Ederson's 40m euros transfer is equivalent to £35m. It is a world record in sterling, but not euros
Don't know shit about Butland. Why do we hate him? Simply due to price or is he not good enough to be our no. 1 going forward?
Butland was a good promising goalie. Then he got hurt and had surgery on his ankle and they fucked it up so he had a second surgery. Now he can't move like he used to and was a big part in getting Stoke relegated. Call me crazy but I don't like my record breaking signings to come from a team that just got relegated. Coming off a season where teams scored 61 goals against him.
Sounds like Can officially a Juventus player. Such a shame we lost him for nothing. First real non-success story of the FSG/money ball model (although it seems we are done with that now)
AC Milan officially in a shitload of trouble for FFP (recommended to get banned from European competitions). Why not go offer them a boatload of money for Donnarumma instead of going for fucking Butland.
That kid would literally look down the keeper position for the next dozen or so years. Just give me Oblak or Alisson for fuck sake. Why are we not allowed to have a keeper that doesn’t cost us games just for once?
I’d rather see another LB to replace Moreno instead. We’re 2 deep everywhere else if Clyde is healthy and Gomez can focus on CB. Then sell Moreno or move him to a less defensive position (RW maybe?)
I’m all for bringing in Dembele on loan if we grab Allison/Oblak. We have young wingers (Wilson, woodburn, Brewster at ST) who probably deserve a shot before buying anyone.
There was a video on youtube where Klopp was naming the best attributes of every player, and he said that Moreno was the best shooter in the squad. It made me wonder why he hasn't used him in a more forward position more often than he does.
Fine with Moreno leaving, however it happens. I think we add 2 defenders this summer, and LB makes sense for the second one.
I don’t necessarily want him to leave, but I don’t think he should be our LB if Robertson gets hurt and I think he has value with his offensive skill set.
Matip makes way more mistakes than klavan. Klavan is a great 4th choice cb. Matip is a bad 3rd choice.
Matip is better than Klavan, but I personally like Klavan more. Klavan was a 30 year old Estonian journeyman who got bought by Liverpool for €5 million. It is a great story. Also love this video of this little Estonian girl's getting a Klavan shirt for Christmas. https://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/la...xing-first-shirt-Ragnar-Klavan-video-Van-Dijk
Firmino scored for Brazil at Anfield today. Really hope he gets the chance to show his skills for Brazil in Russia.
Don't forget about Kolorov almost scoring an exact same goal in the 1st leg vs Roma. Seems like its a technique/reaction time issue with him. To me, this would explain the 1st goal rather than the 2nd.
