Some Nebraska panhandle storm porn. Looks like colors are doctored...which I hate...maybe I'm wrong about that. https://www.9news.com/article/weath...ning-storm-on-nebraska-panhandle/73-562697746
I’m starting to get super salty towards this Northern bullshit. We could barely buy pea size hail this season in KC.
Well, that was very impressive. I got a ton of pictures, but completely forgot about the damn power lines in my backyard. I was so excited I forgot they were there. These are the best without them. Hail up to tennis balls, but it dropped just SW of me, thankfully. Only had 1/2" hail
You’ve had an active few days. Must be nice. Does ND see a decent amount of severe weather? Moving up that way in about a month, imagine I’ll be getting there for their peak season
I would make a bad professional athlete.. I'd always be reading the news. After most events, I check out Twitter to see if ppl thought my warnings were awful lol. Doesn't really bother me, but I can't not look
You mean checking for people like the idiots that tweet at Spann about coverage interfering with Dancing With the Stars or people that actually know what they're talking about?
Both. IDK why I do it, but I do. I really try not to bag on the ppl that clearly have no idea what they're talking about because I was one of those ppl at one point. They like weather and are passionate, but often focus on the wrong thing. I have found that met undergrads and grad students are often the worst at publicly calling out warning decisions... Those are the ones that annoy me the most I do wish it would be easier for people to get a look into warning operations. It's pretty cool and would probably make some realize just how many things are being juggled
lomcevak in outlook description it says that there’s potential for a “few tornadoes with hybrid characteristics”. Can you explain the hybrid characteristics part?
Lol not really sure. Haven't seen that before. I suspect they just meant supercells embedded within line segments. I read it as messy storm mode
Beautiful footage. Guy's got a helluva stablizer. These videos remind me another film made in Wyoming: Spoiler
Looks like that "wedge" tornado was likely a low wall cloud. There was an actual tornado at one point, but not a wedge
I live about 3 miles from there. Tornadoes are extremely rare for this area as we're in a valley and the mountains usually weaken the storms as they pass through. If that thing hits at 7:00 instead of 10:00, we're talking mass casualties. Thankfully I've only heard of minor injuries being reported.
My wife daughter and Mom were up at the Target there last night. I was supposed to meet them at Smokey Bones for dinner which is about 50 yards from that Panera. That’s crazy. NittanyKnight you would have been all over this if still in the area.
Last reporter here says they found parts of a Dicks Sporting Good sign over 10 miles away. Some vehicles on the Nissan lot and Uhaul lot were moved almost 1/4 mile.
The crazy thing about this is in the parking lot next to the Uhaul place was a huge tent where they sell flowers that was perfectly fine. Just a few yards away the roofs were getting ripped off buildings.
