This just seems weird because like half of England's starting 11 has been Spurs players recently. I know the homegrown requirements are different and everything.

18 million euros. Was what I saw. In today’s market for a player who’s highly though of and had 10 goals last season as an 18 year old I would say that’s a good deal. Odds are they will get double or triple that in a few years.

Bruno Fernandes, William Carvalho, and Gelson Martins following Patricio out the door at Sporting Clube de Portugal. They’ve all terminated their contracts.

Has to be the biggest loss of revenue in their history considering they were rejecting 30m transfer fees for Fernandes just weeks ago.

Neither Arsenal or Liverpool were paying 90 for Lemar last summer. I think the highest we were willing to go was 60-70.

I think information about that has been all over the place. I read, I don't remember which journalist it was, was that Liverpool offered 90, Arsenal offered 100. Lemar wanted to go to Liverpool but Monaco only accepted the higher bid.

What if you could combine Pogba’s spin moves and grace with the tenacity and grit we associate with a Diego Simeone coached team? Meet Sergej Milinkovic Savic, a 23-year-old midfielder who earned the nickname “Milinkocrazia” because of his ability to play multiple positions at a high level. After missing out on a Champions League spot, his current club Lazio is ready to cash in, but the price will be steep; Lazio rejected bids of €40 million from Juventus, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, and €100 million from Paris Saint-Germain, according to Le Parisien, in previous summers.

Manchester United could certainly afford him, and Jose Mourinho’s staff has been scouting Milinkovic Savic for quite some time, but it remains to be seen if they’ll be willing to submit a bid in the triple digits range after investing so heavily on Pogba and identifying Fred as the ideal player to give the midfield a spark of creativity. But the Red Devils could still benefit from a potential Milinkovic Savic transfer. Should Juventus rekindle their interest in the Serbian midfielder, they would likely have to sacrifice Alex Sandro to raise the necessary funds to close the deal with Lazio. Finally, Real Madrid may become a factor in the race for Milinkovic Savic in the coming weeks.

Loris Karius’ nightmare in the Champions League final will have a significant impact on the keeper carousel. Liverpool is once again interested in Alisson, who is coming off a fantastic season at Roma, but will face significant competition for his signature. Real Madrid view the Brazilian as an ideal alternative to David de Gea, and he’s at the top of Chelsea’s list of replacements for Thibaut Courtois, who will likely leave London this summer after failing to reach an agreement on an extension.

To add another wrinkle to the equation, after receiving significant revenues from their deep Champions League run, Roma, for the first time in years, won’t have to sell a big name player by June 30th to meet their Financial Fair Play obligations. While they would like to keep Alisson at least one more season, a strong showing at the World Cup will likely trigger a Godfather-like offer from another club. The expectation is Alisson will fetch significantly more than the €40 million Manchester City spent to acquire Ederson, his backup on the Seleçao.

Speaking of keepers and Financial Fair Play, Gigi Buffon’s expected move to PSG is now just a matter of time. The legendary Italian keeper has no intention of retiring, especially since Italy’s failure to qualify for the World Cup denied him an ideal setting for his last match, and he’s looking for one more opportunity to win the Champions League, the only trophy missing from his resume. Buffon was never really an option for the aforementioned Liverpool, as they are interested in more of a long-term solution. PSG, however, see Buffon as a great mentor for Alphonse Areola, who the club would like to keep despite him being Carlo Ancelotti’s top choice for his new club, Napoli.

PSG is waiting to announce the Buffon signing because they need to address some of their own Financial Fair Play issues first. The Ligue 1 champions will almost certainly complete sales for players like Javier Pastore, Layvin Kurzawa, Kevin Trapp, or Goncalo Guedes before introducing any significant new addition.

After signing Gonzalo Higuain and Miralem Pjanic from rival Serie A clubs in previous summers, could Juventus also land Mauro Icardi? Ironically, Inter ensured that the €110 million exit clause in their captain’s contract would be valid only for clubs outside of Serie A in response to those two moves, so the odds are stacked against the Serie A champions.

After Leonardo Bonucci’s shocking move to AC Milan last summer, nothing can be truly ruled out on the Italian transfer market, but it’s also important to note that all the buzz on a potential transfer to Inter’s biggest rival is coming from Icardi’s camp. His wife and agent Wanda Nara has been able to parlay the significant interest from other clubs for her client and husband into raises the past two summers, and she’ll likely make it a trifecta within a few weeks.

Regardless of the Juventus angle, when you consider Icardi stayed at Inter in previous transfer windows when his club wasn’t in the Champions League, it’s hard to envision him leaving now that Inter has finally qualified for Europe’s most important competition—and it doesn’t hurt that he and Wanda recently bought a new house in Milan.

Arsenal’s first shopping period in the post Wenger era has already landed Stephan Lichtsteiner, who was looking for a challenge in a new league after his contract with Juventus expired. Now the London club is closing in on two promising Serie A midfielders. Unai Emery will likely leverage his relationship with his former sporting director Monchi, now at Roma, when discussing Lorenzo Pellegrini, a recent addition to Italy’s national team.

In addition to Pellegrini, the Gunners are reportedly closing in on Lucas Torreira. The Sampdoria midfielder has drawn comparisons to Marco Verratti and is ready to take the next step in his career. Arsenal face competition from Napoli; the Serie A runners-up view Torreira as a replacement for Jorginho, who is expected to join Manchester City.

Napoli could lose a number of starters from last season: Dries Mertens, Jose Callejon, and Raul Albiol all have reasonable exit clauses, and there’s less urgency from the club to renegotiate those contracts since Ancelotti replaced Sarri, who was far more tactically rigid than the new manager. But the revolution could go even further when you also consider the scarcity of quality options at the wing back position. It’s not hard to imagine a wealthy club deciding that Faouzi Ghoulam and Eisaid Hysaj’s clauses of €50 million and €40 million, respectively, are worth the investment.

Two major players want to leave their clubs. Robert Lewandowski’s desire to change teams is nothing new. And just one year after his transfer from Barcelona, Neymar is the subject of speculation over a move. However, both Bayern Munich and PSG have long-standing policies of demanding that unhappy players respect their contracts—neither has been bullied into selling a star they wanted to keep for quite some time.

AC Milan’s recent issues with UEFA concerning the uncertainty over their ownership situation could force them to sell. Leonardo Bonucci’s significant wages could make Alessio Romagnoli, who is seven years younger and on considerably lower wages than Bonucci, a more appealing target for clubs looking for an upgrade at the center back position. Romagnoli did recently sign an extension with Milan, but he could still be sold despite the Rossoneri’s desire to keep him.

Fiorentina is eyeing Atlanta United’s Miguel Almiron as a potential replacement for Federico Chiesa, a player that Pep Guardiola would like to add to his squad at Manchester City. While Almiron could head to Serie A, Roberto Donadoni may take the opposite journey to coach in MLS after being relieved of his duties at Bologna FC. Donadoni played for the New York-New Jersey MetroStars back in the ’90s and has been previously linked to the Montreal Impact, whose owner, Joey Saputo, also owns Bologna.

I always love when people act like you can leverage some past relationship to get a cheaper deal done. Roma isn’t selling Pellegrini unless someone pays his release clause and Pellegrini decides to move. Roma want to give him a new deal to get rid of it.

Nainggolan is the guy Roma likely sells. He keeps saying dumb shit and probably the last time Roma can get anything for him. He doesn’t really fit the role he has with EDF and his partying and playing style people expect a swift drop off now that he is 30. Maybe Strootman since he’s aging and has no knees or ligaments.
