Basically. That’s why it’s questionable he can do this. But he knows it and wants it to fail. Then he did something and “see congress has to do this” will be his response.
true. i was merely trying to put it in modern terms. but yes a strong argument could be made that gingrich is responsible for the state of our current politics.
Fuck decorum, these people are cool with concentration camps. They no longer deserve a voice in the direction of this country
We have some pretty fucked up state governments. And it wouldn’t further surprise me if they sued and the administration then decided not to defend the case because their view is that the policy requires legislation.
I thought CNN was claiming immigration attorneys would immediately sue because it would allow infinite detention and that was Stephen Miller's ultimate goal.
My text: "Steven, it's been too long! We should catch up sometime. Maybe eat some Mexican for lunch? I know you have a few fresh ones that you've smuggled out of detention centers for your own twisted perversions."
Quinnipiac: Stop Taking The Kids, 66 Percent Of U.S. Voters Say, Quinnipiac University National Poll Finds; Support For Dreamers Is 79 Percent Trump and Republicans are losing on this immigration and child abuse issue. There’s video, audio, pictures. There are five First Ladies. You can’t fight that. Sure, you can dig in. No point in a compassion appeal to someone who lacks the gene, but that’s separate from losing the public, and Trump is losing the public. Republicans, your cowardly inhumanity will haunt you to your graves. Quinnipiac: Stop Taking The Kids, 66 Percent Of U.S. Voters Say, Quinnipiac University National Poll Finds; Support For Dreamers Is 79 Percent Republicans fret about what family separations will cost them “The issue is terrible for House Republicans, President Trump, and the Republican Party as a whole. For many voters, including crucial swing voters from suburban areas, it reinforces the absolute worst perceptions,” a veteran Republican strategist with clients on the 2018 ballot said, requesting anonymity in order to criticize Trump. This Republican insider is not a reflexive Trump critic and conceded that this issue could be long forgotten in just a few days, as is typical with controversies surrounding the president. But speaking to the Washington Examiner via email, this strategist said that, if not, the political fallout could be devastating. “Compounding the problem is the incompetence of the Trump administration to have a clear policy when it comes to these children at the border, let alone an articulate one. The president blaming the Democrats rings hollow because WE ARE IN CHARGE,” the strategist said.
Possible, but I’d need to see the order before knowing if there was any new claim with respect to length of detention to see if there is any distinction from what has already been litigated.
Fuck your civility you ghoul. There are children in CONCENTRATION CAMPS in the United States today. There are infants that will never be reunited with their families. Nothing would give me more pleasure in the world than to lock you and your family into one of these camps and forget you ever existed while debating the merits of my bloodlust... civilly of course.
Can you compare Trump and Sessions to the Nazis? Ask the creator of Godwin’s Law dk Spoiler Walter Einenkel Daily Kos Staff Tuesday June 19, 2018 · 2:08 PM CDT American attorney and author Mike Godwin created an online meme-related rhetorical law, appropriately titled “Godwin’s Law.” Godwin's law (or Godwin's rule of Hitler analogies)[1][2] is an internet adage asserting that "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Hitler approaches 1";[2][3] that is, if an online discussion (regardless of topic or scope) goes on long enough, sooner or later someone will compare someone or something to Adolf Hitler or his deeds. Promulgated by the American attorney and author Mike Godwin in 1990,[2] Godwin's law originally referred specifically to Usenet newsgroup discussions.[4] It is now applied to any threaded online discussion, such as Internet forums, chat rooms, and comment threads, as well as to speeches, articles, and other rhetoric[5][6] where reductio ad Hitlerum occurs. As Godwin explained in an interview with Dan Amira of New York Magazine back in 2013, “It’s the worst thing anybody can think of, so if you have some kind of rhetorical escalation with someone you disagree with, it’s sort of easy to go there if you’re not very reflective about what you’re saying.” Of course, right wingers and those “debate champion” libertarian friends of yours have used this rhetorical law as a cudgel to yell about hyperbole being used in the arguments over Trump and Republican policies. But even according to Mike Godwin himself, the concept the “Godwin’s law” was not to say comparing things to Hitler or Nazis made those claims false; his hope for the “law” was to remind people to consider deeply the comparisons they were making in the heat of an argument battle. American history has its own flirtations with fascism and racism and militarism, and people have believed in any and all of these things, so with certain individuals it has to come up from time to time. So it’s not the case that the comparison is never valid. It’s just that, when you make the comparison, think through what you’re saying, because there’s a lot of baggage there, and if you’re going to invoke a historical period with that much baggage you better be ready to carry it. Here is the tweet Mike Godwin has pinned to the top of his account. The information highway is in agreement as to the heinous nature of our current state of the union. We are separating families and putting them in cages.
This country is guilty of a lot of nasty shit. But electing this moron and giving voice to his followers and what they stand for is right up there with the biggest mistake the republic has ever made. Fucking depressing.
too soon? wait until they are getting gassed? wait until they are working? when would it be appropriate for your sensibilities?
Concentration camps are not death camps, concentration camps are either to stick minorities and or political prisoners. Since the White House has admitted they are using these children as political tools, they are considered political prisoners, hence concentration camps.
