Loved the Cherry Creek area when I lived there. Think it gets a bad rap in this thread. Will admit that 5pm-7pm traffic on Speer was gay as Adam Rippon
I used to take it from commerce city to 1st ave in rush hour traffic. Sucked from 17th to 1st but was manageable
They’re starting to gain some traction. We rolled out brunch on Jan 1 and the menu is fucking great. Think that’s going to help them out. It got off to kind of a rocky start when it opened in the summer due to some whacky maintence things happening (i.e. some person crashing in the parking garage attached the building and hitting a water line, causing water to be lost in the entire building for over a day, etc.). Numbers look like they are beginning to get their feet under them. Think some of the Hedge Row menu items are going to start popping up at The Kitchen locations in Denver and Boulder, which is exciting.
What happened to Second Home in Cherry Creek? Saw its now Social Fare and no longer has the best bar pizza I’ve ever had in my life. George Costanza please find me where that pizza went.
I think that was a Sage Restaurant Group spot and they ultimately didn’t renew their lease and turned the space back over to Marriott. Unless one of Sage’s other Denver restaurants has a pizza on their menu, then it may be gone for good
Are there any local chain coffee shops in the denver area that compete with starbucks? I'm working on a case analysis about a beverage company and couldn't find any information regarding the areas coffee shop landscape. Tia
Multi-location "local" coffee shops that have a piece of the market share in the area. Places that offer similar products.
pulling together a Crawfish boil party soon. Any interest in joining. Trying to throw down extra hard. ANTWONE your package goes out friday.
I’m staying for 4 nights in June. We’re going to shows at Red Rocks 2 of the nights. Looking for ideas for the other 2 nights. Is Boulder worth spending a day/night? Any recs would be appreciated.
this looks dope as fuck. Bring on the national touring acts where I can actually see what is going on (calling you out ogden)
Maybe an afternoon or so. Pearl Street is kinda cool. If you’re into beer, check out Avery Brewing Co.
Boulder is nice for an afternoon. Definitely second going to Avery. They are great. Chautauqua Park is worth stopping at for views of the Flatirons and hiking. You can make it light hiking or you get get more strenuous from there, depending on your preference. I’d say hanging around Golden at night might be more fun. Much more laid back town and a good mix of restaurants and bars with a few breweries (besides Coors). Also extremely close to some manageable day hiking. Some top notch hole in the wall type places around town - El Callejon (Colombian), Bobs Atomic Burger’s, Bonfire Burritos (food truck). Good smaller breweries in Golden include Mountain Toad, New Terrain, and Cannonball Creek. State 38, Miners Saloon, and Golden Moon are solid bars with good drinks
Definitely a good one. I will also suggest South Table Mountain via Sleeping Elk trail that is short and gets you up top to overlook Golden as well. Great for sunset
Heading back out to Denver for the first time since I lived there during Summer 2016. Anything new I should hit up that has popped up in the meantime? Also, gonna go back to RMNP. Was gonna do Sky Pond again. Any other suggestions for the park?
Going to be there in July/August, what are going to be my options on getting to Fort Collins from Denver? Like is it going to be possible without renting a car?
You can get there via bus for like $10. Downtown Fort Collins is great. Plus plenty of breweries all around in walking distance. https://www.ridebustang.com/north-line
I don’t know why I follow this thread. I’m reminded I moved out of the goat state on 2 separate occasions, by choice, and now live in America’s armpit. It’s seriously depressing.
I'm an attorney. I will be moving out May 22ndish and my g/f will join me in mid-June. Gonna slip into someone's apt until June 15 and then find somewhere to live. So playing that whole game right now. You can also find me at the Dodgers/Rockies game at the start of June.
that’s great. George Costanza is the go-to for food, bars, and good living areas. I’ll be at the July 4th Rockies-Giants game if anyone wants to get a beer before or during. Got free tickets from my apartment, so that’s cool.
So is the job actually in Golden? Or in between Denver and Golden? I can try and help provide some more info depending on where you'll actually be commuting to work
favorite breakfast spots in town? I'm talking diner/coffee shops/breakfast burritos. Not brunch or anything like that. Taking the rail has been fine but I am ready to start driving to work the week after next.
Also fuck Snooze. If you enjoy a sugar bomb for breakfast, I guess congrats on the diabetes. The most attractive things on their menu is pure shit for you. There is nothing special about the place for the amount of attention it gets.
The company I was working for in Denver went under so I took a contract back in Columbus in hopes that one of my dream companies in Denver would come up with an opening soon and I have an interview with the director at one of those companies next week. I'm so excited I can't wait to get back.
