ya, it is good. I prefer Rosenberg's but would just go to whichever one is closer. I've heard of a great jewish deli south of town but haven't made it out there. Bagel Deli perhaps?
Anyone ever go to Amore's pizza on 6th and Santa Fe? It's a little hole in the wall but they have really good pizza by the slice and a killer lunch special
Bagel Deli is legit. I also enjoy the bagel sandwiches from Moe's. It's right at Speer and Grant. Rosenberg's is fantastic, and I also enjoy Santiago's, Little Anita's, or Chickees for breakfast burritos.
I'll probably hit up chickee's saturday. Haven't been eating out a ton since I've moved here, but probably gonna walk over to Well Pizza/Bar tonight. I have heard good things.
Chickees is OK. Best handheld breakfast burrito on the Northside is probably from Downpours Coffee on Tennyson. Best smothered breakfast burrito is from Javier's Diner. The owners of the Well are super friendly and nice. The panini sandwiches there are pretty good for lunch.
I don't think there are any breweries that would be considered "good" around there. If you're willing to take a 5-10 minute Uber ride, you could head to RiNo (Ratio, Our Mutual Friend, Blackshirt) or the west/northwestern part of town (Little Machine, Seedstock, Hogshead Joyride). Denver Beer Co is another option not too far away. Also, if you like scotch, check out Pints Pub. They claim to have the largest selection of scotch outside of the UK and have a few of their own beers. The setting is a semi-cheesy English pub and you can get English food and burgers.
Cuba Cuba Cafe is great if you want Cuban food. A little bit of a walk from Convention Center but manageable.
Had a nice little Denver Saturday. Denver bike tour, drinks at Denver Central Market, then walked over to Hop Alley around 530 for dinner (surprisingly the bar was wide open). Hop Alley is so damn good and quite possibly my favorite restaurant in Denver. I don’t like soft shell crab but theirs is incredible. Girl I was with is a vegetarian and got the steamed eggplant, it was delicious.
Anyone know if there's a significant price difference between the rental car locations right next to the airport compared to the ones that are a mile or two away?
DIA is a shuttle from airport for all rental car facilities. All of them are 1-2 miles outside of the airport.
Can't answer your question, but I'll caution you not to use payless, even if that shit is free. WOAT car rental experience.
Hey guys I’m flying into Denver this upcoming Saturday. Any quick tips or recommendations on food, breweries, things to see, places to go? I know I can sort through the thread I’m curious if anything has changed or any upcoming events I should look forward to.
Visited last weekend and was blown away. Denver Biscuit Company and Sams#3 were great for breakfast. Denver Beer was our favorite brewery. Ate at Euclid Hall which was good. Went to Boulder for a day. People were awesome and Red Rocks was unbelievable. Rockies game was fun. Y’all live in a great city.
I think there's a pretty decent chance I'll be back in the next month or so. If it works out, I'm never leaving again.
This post alone makes me more excited than I already am to get there. I meant the post by Corch. Jesus I suck at posting.
I both really miss Denver and am really happy to not be there currently. I do still own property and a business there so I reeeeeeeally hope Amazon HQ2 ends up there.
Also arty hipster that just purchased a 15k printer to start making fine art prints for the local art communities I’m involved in.
all good. Tripped me out for a second. A buddy just moved home to Texas to run his family's propane business.
We have Snooze here as well. One of the most overrated breakfast spots in town. Sounds like the one there is the same. Coming back to Denver 8/9-8/12. Girlfriend goes there once a quarter for work and meets with clients Monday-Thursday so I’m flying out to meet her Thursday afternoon and have a car/hotel already paid for Thursday and Friday. Going to be at Warwick then doing Grand Hyatt Saturday night. She’s never been to Redrocks so gonna do one of the Pretty Lights shows Friday or Saturday. May do a Rockies game Thursday or Friday/Saturday. Anything else going on that weekend feel free to pass along. Still remember a lot of recommendations from last years trip ITT if anything is new in the last year that’s a must-try let me know. Very excited to be coming back to your city
Greta Van Fleet and Moon Taxi at the Fox in Boulder on 8/10. Pretty sure it sold out but I'll be there. Might be the show of the year considering how small the venue is and Greta already has back-to-back nights at the Fillmore in Denver 9/30 and 10/1, one of which I'll also be going to. The Fillmore is at least 5 times larger than the Fox, maybe more. So it's insane they'll be at such a small place as they are selling out world wide Hell there is some great music that weekend. Rayland Baxter at the Bluebird on 8/9 (going). Brandi Carlile at Boulder Theatre on 8/11. I think Pimps of Joytime are playing at Ophelia's on 8/9 as well.
Well damn looks like I’ll be keeping up with those ticket prices. Not sure I’d pay $120ea that Ticketmaster and sites are asking after fees bc I’m seeing a Greta at ACL and have seen Moon Taxi a half dozen times.
Went to Taco Veloz yesterday for lunch. Very good al pastor and the salsa bar was solid*. Still think I'd take the al pastor tacos at Taco de Mexico but Veloz is definitely in the rotation now. *I still don't understand why salsa bar and chips isn't a thing at taquerias in Denver.
