Just read they plan on opening Nou Mestalla in 2 years. Work hasn't started back yet and they're changing the facade. From this: To this:
Update on Zenit's clusterfuck Violations Found in Zenit Stadium Build ST. PETERSBURG, January 14 (R-Sport) - Russia's Audit Chamber has uncovered a number of violations in the construction of Zenit St. Petersburg's new stadium, including the lack of a building permit. The $1.3 billion arena, which will host a World Cup 2018 semifinal and Zenit St. Petersburg home games, was due to open in 2008 but has suffered repeated delays and ever-rising costs, a process that Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said last year “looks disgraceful.” Now, the country's main auditing body has uncovered a raft of transgressions in the construction process on Krestovsky Island, the site of the club's former Kirov Stadium. "During checks, a number of violations were discovered including the use of material from the demolished stadium in the building of the new stadium and the improper storage of 63,000 spectator seats at a cost of 287 million rubles ($9.4 million)," the Audit Chamber said in a statement. "In addition to that, in the period of 2006-2008, work was carried out without a building permit, and in 2010-2012, without approved project documents." The stadium’s capacity will be 68,000, increased from the original figure of 62,000, to comply with general FIFA standards for semifinal venues. FIFA is in the process of assessing the feasibility of host city arenas, and has not yet requested any changes to their designs. The completion date is set for 2014, Alexei Sorokin, the head of Russia’s World Cup organizing committee has said, although some reports have claimed the project may only be completed in 2017. The stadium was designed to look like a spaceship by renowned Japanese architect Kisho Kurosawa, who died in 2007.
That thing is cruising along and looks awesome, definitely need to make an attempt to get FSU-Alabama tickets when it opens in two years
It's "old" as it was opened in 1992 IIRC which was before all of the luxury type stuff all of the new stadiums have.
Kahn has scrapped plans for this expansion and is going with another architect to design something else. My guess it'll be a cheaper plan
Bernabeu to get $400m euros renovation set to begin at the end of the season and to be completed by 2020. It will include the addition of a retractable roof and LED displays outside the stadium.
The explosion of purpose built soccer stadiums and their overall success in this country over the past decade or so has been amazing and great to see.
Pretty cool to see the excitement around FC Cincinnati in just there second year. If they can sustain the attendance that they have had so far I could see MLS come calling in a few years.

I will start caring when they actually break ground on something. Not projected to be done until 2023-2024 now?
Dan Gilbert and Tom Gores are one step closer to getting the land necessary for their proposed stadium in Detroit. I have to think that Detroit will get an MLS team if they get the land for the project. I doubt the league will turn down a partnership between two billionaires.
I enjoy when you do this. Molineux should restart its development next summer so we’ve got that to look forward to.
Catalonia has approved the renovation of the Camp Nou and the area surrounding it. It should start in the summer of 2019
