Fuck Bourdeaux and Fuck Barcelona who is clearly still mad they got sent home packing from the Champions League. I was fine giving up Alisson for a guy like Malcom who was going to tear Serie A alive with his pace, dribbling ability, and outside the box shooting because watching Roma last year was incredibly painful. Hopefully Bourdeaux gets relegated. Now Malcom can enjoy making $5 mil a year to play footsie on Barca’s bench with Digne. I hate this cruel sport.
The lack of prioritizing playing time always surprises me in football. You’d rather be depth at Barca than a locked starter at Roma (unless the money is lopsided).
Devil's advocate but what if you never get another chance to join a team of Barca's caliber again? Also, if you have confidence in your abilities you don't see yourself as depth.
I’d expect the next piece of business Barca and Roma do will be very costly. Pallotta holds a grudge.
With the English window closing on the 9th but teams still able to sell players until the 31st, I expect to see some pretty great shenanigans with players trying to force moves and teams blocking the moves then players pouting and sitting out training.
He's Canadian and supposed to be very good. Thats all I got Was a Barca fan by default as a degenerate gambler because they made me money when I was betting soccer just by taking their Overs 5+ years ago. Now I have a reason to cheer for a team. He did score this goal last week according to Youtube.
It was literally reported by many outlets and even Monchi said as of this morning his agents were still preparing for Rome until the players reps and the club had a meeting today.
Kids in the VWC youth program used to call him uncle Alphonso because they all felt he was older than he said he was. His skills are still developing but he’s improved quite a bit over the last year.
I doubt it. Maybe next year, but I think Everton showed last year that just because you buy a bunch of players doesn’t mean they’re going to amount to shit. Granted, they weren’t all of the same nationality like what’s going on at Wolves.
Said this in the Everton thread but rumors are that a bit of that money is basically an apology for stealing Watfords coach
Everton signed every #10 they could find. We’re just buying guys for our system. Half the starting lineup was Portuguese last year. We made a bunch of the loans permanent and upgraded striker and central midfield to give Neves a better partner and allow Saiss to work with the backline like he does with the Moroccan national team. And upgraded keeper to a world class level.
Why would Everton apologize? Everton was willing to give good money to get him last summer and they denied.
Hargreaves wins overall. Hutchinson wins if you're talking about players who actually played for Canada. I like that he did it the old school way playing in the old Canadian low divisions and then made it to Scandinavia. He won player of the season in the Danish league one year, which is pretty cool. Anyway, back to transfers.
Hargreaves doesn’t count. Would have to be Atiba although had he remained committed his whole career to Canada Tomas Radzinski would have been in the convo.
He's in the convo because he grew up playing in Canada i.e. the best player we produced. To me it would be disingenuous to include someone like Scott Arfield in the convo because he didn't play or even step foot in this country until his first call-up.
