The answer, sure but the Washington pp would be at the bottom. He would get 10 more points and wash would score 30 less goals
Pretty sure he could park his big ass in front of goal and get a ton of points with Ovi, Carlson, Kuznetsov, and Backstrom.
So your brilliant idea is to take oshie out? He also plays 5 on 5 with some of these guys so his numbers are inflated
Last year we gave Oshie the worst contract in nhl history according to the experts on here, hoping this one works out the same.
I didn't once say I want him on PP, just that he gets no PP minutes. He wasn't on the top line most of the season, he flipped between lines all year. Played all postseason with Kuznetsov-Ovi and was fabulous. I said it was too much, don't act like this is a Lucic contract.
Fair enough, these guys are hard to put a value on. He probably hasn’t reached his full potential yet. Would be tough to just let him walk but that is too much imo, that being said some other team would’ve offered him the same or more.
then a separate issue is could he keep his dumbass out of the penalty box (spoiler alert: no) bold pp strategy
Absolutely brilliant move from Gorton. Don't trade Hayes or sign him long term. Instead give him a one year deal into UFA territory so you can trade him at the deadline for the 28th pick in the draft. I can't take this fucking nonsense anymore. You are a fucking clown Jeff Gorton.
The McAvoy route, I like it. He needs to get stronger, fill out, and work on his shot. He will sign when Michigan's season is over....... maybe be a rookie with his brother on the same team next year.
Wilson is a solid player and played well during their run, but it’s never a good idea to pay a guy who plays over his head during one postseason run. Every team that makes a long run tends to do it but it rarely works out. He’s gotta be a permanent fixture on their first line for him to live up to the deal.
Ottawa Senators Last season's points total: 67 Three-season points average: 83.3 They can hit 100 points this season if: They're allowed to play a 164-game season. And even then, nothing is assured. Will they hit 100 points this season? No. But seriously ... no.
Prob not, but in arbitration when teams always low ball you, and moderators almost always just split the difference, why not go high?
Top 5 two way wing. $9M? Maybe not compared to 50 goal scoring wings but he brings all elements to the game. $8M for sure.
