I also have no idea if I’m leveled up enough to face them or if that even matters. I don’t have any epic yellow armor
Yeah, get some better armor. The Valk grind is similar to Destiny whereas you’ll have a better time if you’re better prepared
It was the best intro best boss fight of any game I've played, but its mind numbingly easy compared to say Sigrun.
Got a brace so I can finally game again and finally decided to beat God of War now to plat it by finishing the trials and Nilf.
Got this about a month ago. Been slaying my backlog since getting my PS4 mid-June. Getting to play God of War 3 for the first time. It’s been many years since I’ve played the first 2. This one seems like a massive step up.
I just finished the puzzle in Hera’s garden. This is legitimately skyrocketing into my top 5 games. Pushing top 3. And from what you guys have said about the PS4 entry, I’m apparently gonna like that even more?
Holy Santa Claus shit that was awesome. I’m gonna play a buffer game and then jump into God of War 2018.
How much do you unlock completing the Nilheim challenge? Other than valks and side quests I’m at a loss as what to do next.
Oh fuck yes http://www.denofgeek.com/us/games/g...tails-and-release-date-for-new-game-plus-mode The God of War team has revealed some of the first details about the game's highly-anticipated New Game+ mode. In a new blog post, Santa Monica Studios revealed that God of War's New Game+ mode will allow you to re-experience the God of War adventure but with all the progress you made during your first playthrough. That means you keep your "armors, enchantments, talismans, resources, and abilities." As you might imagine, that feature comes with a catch. You will retain all of your progress, but you will also face significantly tougher enemies this time around. It's not entirely clear whether that means that we'll see new enemies in this mode on top of old ones, but the team did suggest that many of the game's old enemies will be packing some "new tricks up their sleeves." The good news is that New Game+ players will also have access to a new variety of equipment in this mode. It seems that these new items can be forged using a new resource called "Skap Slag" that grants you access to "the best of the best from our finest blacksmiths." On top of that, you'll be able to equip new enhancements for your items that will allow for some truly devastating offensive and defensive abilities. Best of all, the studio confirmed that you will be able to skip cinematic moments in God of War when this new update hits. However, you will need to have completed the game the first time around before you are able to do so.
Seems like he’s probably going to be one of the main antagonists. The beginning of that fight was the epitome of I love the Atreus element and how he just casually drops the identity of The Stranger. The name jogged my memory a bit so I kind of know who I’m dealing with now. I’m at the end of the Alfheim sequence now but this is quickly trouncing every other God of War game for me. Norse mythology does it for me and this is full penetration Thor porn at this point. I like the Souls-style combat a lot more than the previous button-mashing and love the added RPG elements. Makes me feel like wandering around and completing random shit has some merit since I can go after some rare armor and runes to control my own destiny in battle. That said, I’m upgrading the fuck out of Atreus’s bow to give myself some better support up front. I usually rely on ranged combat when given the option so it’s tight to have little man fucking shit up when I go hand to hand. This is gonna be my favorite game of all time. I can tell already.
Some more NG+ details You won't start with artifacts/collectables so you can/have to collect those again. You can start a new NG+ file from a completed NG+ game, when you start a new NG+ you can choose a different difficulty again. Multiple new armor sets.

Timed realm tears oh my fuck New valk attacks oh dear god O/U on my first NG+ GMGoW Sigrun kill 100 hours of attempts...
Just got to Sindri on NG+ after fully exploring Lake of Nine during first world serpent encounter on GMGoW difficulty. First impressions: 1. Not nearly as hard as GMGoW on a fresh char with 0 gear 0 skills, I've only died twice due to careless mistakes. 2. Timed realm tears aren't that big of a deal, I mostly finished the encounter with just using the 4 charged moves. 3. Having the Parry talisman and Slow Time on dodge talismen as enchantments is going to be pretty sex. 4. You basically have to re-collect all your armor sets and re-grind to upgrade them with skap slag if you want to fully max out again. 5.
I found the one in the witch’s cave and noped the fuck out of there. I’ll have to loop back around to those.
So basically every armor set has a Perfect+ version in NG+, they all start at lvl 8 with stats that are equal to maxed out versions of the normal versions. Which means all gear needs to be refarmed, there's also 2 God armor sets, Zeus armor and Ares armor. Zeus armor massively increases your normal attack damage, but increases the damage you take. Ares armor massively increases your rage meter gain rate, but cuts the maximum rage meter.
Ivaldi Deadly Mist armor any good? I assume when you guys talk about farming, you’re referring to Niflheim?
Progressed enough in NG+ GMGoW to fight Gondul in Muspelheim, holy fuck she's a bitch. She now does 3 Valhalla fire dives in a row so you'll need to get good at realm shift/time slow dodging her first dive and interrupt her with Executioner's Cleave other wise she'll keep diving 2 more times and cover the entire area in lava, she also gained another lava attack where she'll dash backwards and hurl a meteor/bomb at you and covers a large area in lava. Took 2 hours to finally kill her, got the Zeus gauntlets.
As someone who just started replaying GoW3 it feels very much the same from the previous 2, so much so that I think I’ve played it before. And the “remaster” is meh to me. It’s encouraging that GoW 2018 is from all accounts a marked step up and a radical progression from the previous 3.
Just picked this back up after going balls to the wall with Spider-Man. Combat feels so odd now. Beat my fifth Valkyrie on the first try though. I have Muspelheim, Niflheim, and the mountain before I get to Sigrun. I’ve only attempted the mountain and got my shit pushed in at the time. I believe I’ve done a lot of grinding since that attempt.
