At the African american museum in DC within one of their exhibits are slang terms used and the time period in which it was used. One slang word was “brick” and it was defined and had 90s next to it. My 14 year old nephew who plays basketball religiously had never heard the term.
In 2008, When Marlo Stanfield told the co-op "oh and the price of a brick goin up" no one could have known he was actually proficizing the tail end of Carmelo Anthony's basketball career.
