I feel ya. Things change so quickly in Vegas that my knowledge will be outdated pretty quickly. I just learned that Caesar’s is going to build a conference/convention center behind Flamingo/Linq/Harrah’s. My guess is that it will greatly reduce the outdoor parking back there.
this seems like a bad look for MGM properties, although i understand what they're trying to do http://fortune.com/2018/07/19/mgm-shooting-lawsuit-boycott/
They were well aware of how this would look in the public opinion. They are very anal regarding their image. Yet they did it anyway. Obviously they felt that they absolutely had to do it.
Ask the attorney thread. We can't help u with anything other that how to degen or restaurant recommendations.
I think the first article said it was so that the it would be heard by Federal judges that are likely to be more favorable to MGM than state court
If they wait to be sued by 1,000 claimants they have the expense of dealing with each and later costs of those they lose. Their current action is to try to get a judge to declare them not liable. Period. If it happens they don’t have to deal with 1,000 lawsuits.
Booked a trip out to Vegas in November. Staying at Harrah’s, unfortunately on the old side I think. I read you can pay like 15/night to get moved to the renovated side. Might try to do that 20.00 tip thing at check in and see what happens. It’s also my 30th birthday so maybe I can play that up to the front desk. Anyone got any other suggestions for an upgrade? Also, anyone have a suggestion for a “nicer” type place to eat, as I’m going with the lady.
Nothing too crazy, but depending on the type of food and atmosphere, etc. I would probably be down to spend 75ish a plate or something. Typically when I go I go strictly to gamble and watch games with my friend and his family. Never went with a woman so I’m sure my experience will be different, but would be cool to goto one somewhat nice spot
Beauty and Essex. You'd be able to try everything worth trying there. Or. Take that $150 and win $200 to go with it.....and try Picasso. You'll be going in November, so you'll have nfl, cfb, ncaab, and nba to bet on. But that's just me talking.
Appreciate the post. Yeah last November I went I basically broke even on the trip with my gambling winnings. Would be nice to do that again. That CFB weekend is insane too I just realized: TCU WVU FSU ND Bama Miss State Georgia Auburn PSU Wisconsin Oklahoma vs OK State
Going back with my wife in 2 weeks. Been there a bunch but never seen a cirque show. Considering Zumanity - any thoughts? Also want to get Chinese one night - between Wing Lei (Wynn) or Blossom (Aria). Anyone been to either?
Aha. This one’s right in my wheelhouse. Blossom is probably my favorite Chinese cuisine in Vegas. Andrea’s at the Wynn is second. I’ve never had the pleasure of Wing Lei. I’ve seen all of the Cirque Du Soleil shows in Vegas. My favorite is KA at MGM Grand. My second is O at Bellagio. You can’t go wrong with either choice. Where are you staying? How long will y’all be there?
Thanks man, gonna go to Blossom for sure. Staying at Cosmo from Sept20-23. Can’t wait to get back. Looking forward to checking out Topgolf too
Going to Vegas in about two weeks for my bachelor party, staying at MGM Grand. any recommendations on places to eat/buffets/places in general? We're wanting to do one decent dinner and one buffet while we're there and kind of wing the rest of the trip
I’ll be in Vegas next week. Serious question: what is best way to get tickets for carrot top? I can buy them off Ticketmaster, but I’m wondering if there is a better and less expensive way. Thx
High Roller happy hour is a lot of fun and cheaper in the late afternoon. You can take the free tram from MGM to the Linq. While you're there be sure to hit Hash House, good food and huge portions. I've done both the Caesar's and Aria buffets and both are solid but Caesar's is more popular.
This late in the year if you do the last High Roller trip during the afternoon pricing (like 5:30 or so) you still may get the sunset and view of the lights, FYI. Definitely in October-November, that's the way to do it.
Heading back to Vegas in a few weeks, what’s the best place to watch football Sunday morning with decent food. Tried booking Lagasse stadium but they are booked and the food at beer park doesn’t look good.
Stayed at Park MGM last weekend. Thought the renovation was well done. Obviously a smaller casino but the sports book was different and cool in that there was a counter to make bets and then the viewing room was a sports bar and had food at a walk up station off the side. Also, Bavettes was incredible.
Just got home from there today. I am in pain. The 8 am flight home sucks especially when the pre check lane is closed.
The flights home are always horrible. Back to reality. Early flight. Hangover. Dreading looking at the card statement.
Not sure if I’ll dabble or not, but I might goto a dispensary just because. I’ve heard that it’s still pretty tough to do much besides edibles on the strip. Is this true or do they just kind of turn a blind eye to it?
Only anecdotal evidence here but I'd imagine if you're just not a dumbass about it you'll be fine. The whole strip had that stench when I was there a few weeks ago. Just stick to a few tokes on the bridges or less crowded areas and you'll be fine.
The hotels and resorts will kick you out of your room if you light up and they know about it. I’ve seen plenty of smoking on the streets and sometimes have seen people with joints at slot machines. The properties have no issues with edibles other than dealing a couple times each week when a guest consumes too much and asks to be taken to the hospital.
Yeah like I said who knows if I’ll even buy any. I don’t typically smoke or anything. Honestly I just want to maybe get some so I can get a couple hours of sleep here and there. I’m a terrible sleeper as is.
Got the itch again. Really want to do Christmas in Vegas. With a Christmas tree and everything. Still have a four night offer to use at bellagio for a fountain view room again.
Got offered a couple of comped nights at Park MGM, taking advantage of it during March madness. Kind of sad since we stayed at Cosmo two of the last three years. Love it there but need to branch out
