poor guy. stuck pleading guilty to something because he couldn't afford an attorney who had the time to fight for him
He probably did split the money with the dudes who did it, though. which sounds like facilitation of aggravated robbery (actual charge he plead to).
Listening to the dad's dramatic pauses and throat-clearing shows it's all about him. Just as much as it was when he was absent from his son's life. He shouldn't be talking.
They're probably going to do 2 seasons at each school because going there in year one undoubtedly attracts potential TV gold for year two.
I posted this to be a smartass after Jack Parkman posted a tweet about it returning to Independence and it was already being discussed on this very page of the thread. Jack Parkman has since edited his post and now I look like a bit of a moron. Damn you, Parkman!
Just started this season and right away the way Coach Brown talks reminds of Stevie from East Bound and Down. Probably has already been mentioned
Anyone watch the similar documentary "QB1" on Netflix? It's worth a watch and almost as good. Season 1... https://www.netflix.com/title/81003033 Jake Fromm (UGA) Tate Martell (#Ohio State Buckeyes ) Tayvon Bowers (Wake Forest) Season 2... https://www.ratedred.com/show-qb1-beyond-the-lights/a-game-about-life Justin Fields (#Georgia Bulldogs ) Sam Hartman (#Wake Forest Demon Deacons ) Re-Al Mitchell (#Iowa State Cyclones)
I posted in the random football thoughts thread. I really enjoyed Season 1 on Netflix. Thanks for S2.
Two episodes in and this HC seems like a dumb asshole. And the QB coach is annoying me almost as much as he is annoying Malik Henry.
MUCH less drama than LCU and it may have a hidden christian underlying message. The pattern the QB1 producers seem to follow is 1 nationally ranked highschool, one large public school and one small private school. Also lots of the families are upper middle class. Pretty cool to see where these guys went to high school and the facilities they had. The Ohio State kid Take Martell had facilities as nice as Georgia Southern's in Highschool, it was insane.
Martell came across as kind of prick in this show to me. And yeah, Bishop Goreman has insane facilities. Reminded me of IMG in florida
with written permission you can. HS/college athletes sign a release so their coaches/advisors can discuss
He has vested interest iirc but the other guy who used to be CEO of UFC has poured a ton of money into it
I'm sure someone was smart enough to point out that scene and get kids' consent for him to publicize their grades anyway. It's just I know that assbag wasn't thinking about it when he started telling the world about specific kids' F's.
Finally getting into this season and my word it’s amazing that such a dysfunctional team could win that many games. The coach would have 100% been beaten to death by the players and coaches if they lost that fort dodge game. That guy is so delusional. Also, the announcer is kind of creepy to me - that speech he gave at whatever club that was was cringeworthy.
Good player, showed in the documentary he was kind of a baby back bitch and questionable guy to bring in and this was before he wasted his opportunity at West GA and got in the legal trouble. Wish him the best of luck, but “2nd chance”...?
Yea Nicco Fertitta. He is at Notre Dame because of his dad is Lorenzo Fertitta and is a billionaire but he does have talent. He had a good high school tape but is too small/slow to ever compete at safety realistically. If he were 6'2 he'd be a pretty good LB recruit.
Oh I bet, he's a football booster if there ever was one. If UNLV had a real football program, he'd be their T. Boone Pickens/Phil Knight.
For those QB1 fans, thing that stuck out to me the most was how much of a leader those dudes were. Then there's JUCO, which was all clearly outlined ITT.
I'm only through 5 episodes, but got damn, fuck Malik Henry. He never would have made it at FSU and he won't make it anywhere as long as he keeps blaming everyone else for the problems.
I heard he didn't even make it to spring ball there. You've got to be a serious POS to get sent packing from UWG.
On episode 5 right now and the cigar shop the coach Brown is playing cards at is right down the street from me
