Clearly different sources, I’m guessing Herman and fisaro are getting their info from the FO and Mish the agent
they only spent 1.85 million in international FA. got 3+ million to trade assuming they didn't trade money in other deals
A pair of Marlins prospects took center stage on Saturday, as Nick Neidert dominated on the mound for Double-A Jacksonville while Isan Diaz enjoyed a big night at the plate for Triple-A New Orleans. Neidert, Miami's No. 3 prospect, set a career high by striking out 13 batters over eight innings while pitching the Jumbo Shrimp past Biloxi, 5-1. He allowed one earned run on five hits in the outing and retired 19 of the final 21 hitters he faced. Acquired from Seattle during the offseason in the Dee Gordon trade, Neidert, 21, ranks among the Southern League leaders with a 2.95 ERA (fifth), 1.11 WHIP (fifth), 131 strikeouts (second) and 125 innings (first). He's completed eight innings in three of his past seven starts. As for Diaz, the Marlins' No. 8 prospect hit a two-run homer as well as a pair of triples to finish 3-for-5 with a season-high five RBIs in New Orleans' 18-7 win over Albuquerque. He also reached once via a walk and scored three runs. Part of the massive prospect haul netted by Miami when they shipped Christian Yelich to the Brewers, the 22-year-old Diaz has produced a .246/.364/.446 line with 12 homers, 22 doubles and 52 RBIs in 97 games between the Double- and Triple-A levels.
whole lot of mad at Urena for last night. That was incredibly stupid and selfish but my god at the outrage. You would think Ocuna had his face shattered.
I agree 100%. It was stupid and unnecessary. You want to send a message, strike him out. If you want to send a message by throwing inside, make sure you don't miss. Braves fans still going way overboard with the outrage.
one of the best young players in baseball got thrown at for simply being too good and potentially swung a pennant race. you thinking the outrage was over the top is idiotic. it is more than warranted. and it is acuna
One of the best young players in baseball could miss the rest of the season and ruin his teams World Series hopes all because *big gulps* He was hitting home runs?
he’s been restocking our depleted farm system. don’t see what’s there to hate about what he’s done so far
Yeah I’m just guessing Devine is looking at our W/L record and making assumptions Think we were in the bottom 10 of MLB farm systems before the season and we may be top 15 going into next season, especially if we sign the big Cuban prospect
so that is what joe simpson was talking about a few games ago i was half listening and heard him start to talk about how some spanish players don't speak english very well and cringed at where he was going with that one. mentioned others needing to learn spanish as well which was a nice change of pace for him and had no idea what brought it up. pretty cool initiative
big fan of this. spanish employees learn english and english employees learn spanish. such a great decision that will have benefits beyond baseball.
i know in division is going to pay a higher price but werent they asking for acuna last winter? because that is crazy
Is there anything that says he will be fine? It doesn’t matter, the fact it’s even a discussion and a possibility is everything that’s wrong with baseball. A hardo that got his feelings hurt because his team is trash and a player on another team is good
I still think he got way too little trading off last year's OF, but the moves outside of that have been fine.
yup. Agree. It was really stupid. He should be suspended. I can believe that and still think the outrage from Braves fans is over the top.
