I love that Mike gets a bullshit job title but gets so bored he does the work anyways. just to post it in the right thread too.
How long was the episode? I went to go watch on demand but it says it was 2 hours and 15 minutes so didn’t want to start tonight and recorded next showing but that’s only set for like 70 minutes
Thoughts Jimmy's first interview was great Love Kim and wanna marry her This show is every bit as good as BB Gus is a monster, it is TV but Walt taking him down was a great accomplishment I love this fucking show
I wasn’t really a fan of jimmy not taking job, why? Mike is just awesome, glad he wasn’t just doing all that shit out of boredom as it was out of character. Also as always fuck Lydia Kim and Gus both went hard in the paint, fantastic tv
Holy fuck what an episode The progression of Howard from straight douche antagonist to sympathetic man trying to do his best has been masterful. Vintage Gilligan
What I love most about Howard is that he himself hasn't changed at all. It's just our perception of him has changed as we've learned more information about him. That's really well-crafted storytelling
Man this show is fantastic. Gus is a complete sociopath, I love seeing the inner workings of his empire before Walter came along. Kim is absolutely awesome too, although I have no idea why she stays with Jimmy.
he's still got a little bit of his lovable scamp thing going but I think that well will run dry pretty soon
You guys think she will just up and leave him or tragedy will befall her? I'm predicting she dies in this show as blowback from one of Jimmys schemes.
He didnt take the job because they bought his scheme. He doesnt wanna be a sucker like they are, like his dad were and like he was becoming to Chuck. This was a pretty important moment and could very well be the last time he tries to do the right thing. Here is what Sepinwall said. He obviously says it a lot better than i do. Spoiler He comes shockingly close to saying exactly that, but only after he’s gotten the job and realized how little he wants it, scolding his befuddled would-be employers by pointing out how easily they let themselves be snowed by a man they never properly vetted: “I could be a serial killer! I could be the guy who pees in your coffee pot!” Why does Jimmy do this? Self-loathing in the wake of Chuck’s suicide? The same allergy to the straight life that led him to blow up the sweet job with Davis and Main? He’s at such an emotional crossroads that even he doesn’t seem entirely sure what he’s doing and why — because as soon as he’s stormed out of Neff’s office, Jimmy places a call about the next job on his list, and later seems genuinely enthusiastic with Kim about some of the other leads.
Kim is so god damn perfect and its gonna be awful to watch whatever happens to her. theres no doubt in my mind that she’s a pawn in completely stepping on the viewers throat sometime down the line. Howard is taking some damn beatings these last couple of episodes. Howard is a brilliantly written character. I somehow found the Gus parts the least entertaining thats really saying something because that fucker gives me chills all the way to the core. The ending was great the other stuff was just even better. Lydia looked a lot better 5 years ago, but i mean id still infiltrate her warehouse with or without ID.
A lot of the scenes with him were great. His time had come. He needed to die to push Jimmy into Saul so it all makes sense.
Best show on TV without a doubt. Always a twist and you almost never see it coming Kim will unfortunately die tragically. There is zero chance she is alive during BB and Saul doesnt try to find her/win her back, etc... Kim is the sole reason Jimmy turns into Saul (not chuck like a lot of people think/thought)
I agree that something horrible will happen to Kim, but we dont see Saul doing personal shit in BB so i dont think thats really an argument for her being dead.
No I'm not saying he kills her by any means. In fact I'm saying the complete opposite, that she dies or someone kills her horribly and that's how he becomes saul because hes lost her
she doesn’t have to die for him to become Saul. not saying she won’t, but that’s not the only logical conclusion out of all of this
Rewatching and during copier interview he says he worked with the 6500 back in Chicago and the guy mentions fake $5 bills printed. Did slipping jimmy ever print fake money? His expression kinda made me think he did
That was the crazy fucker that wanted to start his own country and tried to pay Jimmy with money with his face on it
The way Jimmy completely perks up after hearing that Roger is so burdened (which in effects removes for him any possibility that *he* is in any way culpable too) was quite good. So too was the typically quiet Gus-rage of realizing somebody else was making decisions to punish Hector. Loved Mike infiltrating Madrigal (obviously). Lydia being too short sighted (and Gus too for that matter) to appreciate at the very least the self serving brilliance of Mike doing his thing bugged me a little.
Sorry... Just that, the conversation he has with Lydia leaves one with the impression that they both didn't see the merit to what Mike was doing. I would hope that Gus could at the very least see that Mike's decision was firmly rooted in self-preservation, and in turn continued smooth operations. Gus acquiesces ("get him a badge") but he shouldn't have let Lydia trip about it in the first place imo.
Not sure i agree. IIRC Nothing made it seem like Gus had anything to do with Lydia asking Mike to stop by. she called him after and wanted to see him so she could tell about what mike did, he didnt wanna waste his time and when she tells him he’s like give him a keycard.
That could be the case we really dont know. But my way of thinking is that Gus doesnt really care too much about madrigal, Lydia obviously did and she wanted to fix it but called Gus when she found out she couldnt. Thats at least my way of thinking on that one.
Not sure but by Kim's reaction I think she either switched old letter with what was supposed to be in there or gave him a fake one
I got the impression the complete lack of emotion and care from Jimmy is beginning to raise some red flags.
Agree. I thought it was that the letter was written when chuck likely first got sick/mentally ill and thought he may die. Then he didn’t have the consideration or love for jimmy to even rewrite it from years prior. And the fact that jimmy didn’t react to that slight at all was troublesome.
So i look around online and a lot of people actually think she forged the letter. Theres absolutely no way.
Ya something is up with that letter and huge red flag that Jimmy is shrugging it off for this long now. Cant wait to see what's up
My first reaction was that she switched the letter too. Just something about the way she was acting. i agree the other theory makes more sense.
