It’s fine, but not remotely exciting. It looks like they used the plans from Brooklyn and put it on the water. That could be anywhere.
Feel like we’ve been hearing talks about developing that area for the past 5 years. Would like to see some actual action rather than designs every year.
Not really. We've only started seeing definitive designs the past couple of years. No dirt is being shoveled on the Shipyards until the Hart Expressway comes down. The Lot J project will start well before the Shipyards and convention center. The Landing is another story entirely. The City could have bought Sleiman out during Peyton's tenure for $5M. They consider it one of their biggest foulups.
Yea that's what it sounds like. Unreal. A wouldn't be shocked at a 2am shooting at the landing, but 2pm on a Sunday during a video game tournament is crazy.
I dont think this happened bc of anything related to The Landing. If it's just an angry gamer, it could have happened at BW3 or anywhere else that has video game tourneys.
I think I've been there 3 times and I work across the street. I'm just saying that putting this on the landing doesnt seem fair at this point.
Landing was the spot when I was younger. Great local field trip place. It's been shit for years though. Some people are tying this to the gang shooting at Raines a couple nights ago. Given the crowd that typically gathers for Madden tournaments, it's not completely unrealistic.
The spectators aren't. Following the other thread on it, I see some sources are confirming it was a player that just raged. That makes it a little less surprising, and makes it a little less as an issue with Jacksonville. Just an unfortunate location.
Right. If it was indeed a player that lost a game, this isnt a Jax issue, but some will try to make it one. Jax has plenty of issues but nothing about the city caused this.
Not at all. The reality of the situation is that it's crazy easy to buy a gun. The reality of the situation is that the Republican party (of which I am a member) is operating solely on the following platform: (1) public safety, which it has transformed into a 2nd Amendment pro NRA stance in the most disgusting fashion and (2) immigration, which I find amusing since a large portion of its donor base employs illegals. I had a discussion last week with a candidate, who will go nameless, who made a joke that it would be amusing if a gunman walked into the Florida House because the House is one of the most well-armed groups around. He was shocked when I said "you think that's funny or something to brag about?" Heard another elected official discuss his vote against banning bump stocks. It was the most convoluted, ignorant analysis I have ever heard. Fuck it. If these knuckle-dragging POSs want the NRA vote, they ain't getting mine.
Towards where the left? People will still vote for republicans if they're republican and the NRA presence isn't leaving the party. You're in the major minority with your ideas
My state district, Avondale, Ortega, Ortega Forest, Venetia and Argyle is now majority blue. It's slowly happening.
I understand the emotional response to this, but the left is so radical right now, no actual republican is buying in just because of their stance on guns. That's preposterous, actually
Agree...I usually vote R but am more than likely going to vote for Beto in our upcoming Senate race because I can’t stand that arrogant asswipe attention whore Ted Cruz
Is there a recommendated alarm company ? Xfinity is offering a deal but I've never had to havean alarm company
