The CEO who made that comment was let go. I think it was dumb to say but in reality people whining about women being in games and then hoping the game tanks is embarrassing. I think sales also took a hit because that first preview was terrible. It looked nothing like a ww2 scenario. It was more like a post apocalyptic world. I literally bought an Xbox because I was blown away with BF making a WW1 game. The previews they made were insane. So yeah without a doubt it seems things have been rushed. One issue they have is this game better equal BF1. The depth the game has is impressive. They put a ton of work researching and developing minor details to give the game a very unique experience. Operations is the best game mode I've ever played. So I don't care if it's delayed if they add more touches to it. If it doesn't live up to the name it's going to have a shit community
Going to play the crap out of the bfv beta this week. Tried out PUBG 1.0 last night as was actually semi pleased for once. New map/guns are awesome. But the same rendering issues occur on the desert map.
Master Chief Collection and Quantum Break are now on Game Pass. Best deal in gaming keeps getting better. For the price of 2 full priced games per year, I've gotten to play like 8 games.....in 3 months.
I got the two months for $2 deal that just ended. Gonna start Doom tonight. Probably do quantum break next. Can't wait
DLd the BFV Open Beta and played ops for 20 min. Its completely different from BF1. Looks good. Complicated maps etc. It was hard af to see anyone. i constantly shot at my teammates and missed opponents. The roles are a bit different too. You have to keep a med kit on you to heal damage and you can bleed out if you arent healed by a medic. also you can call out to be revived. The guns shoot differently. I dunno its just completely different from BF1, You BF scholars probably know which games its similar to. ill prob buy it after the price dips more.
It is hard to see people and dice says they’re going to address this. The guns are completely different from bf1. There was random bullet spread in bf1, which just led to a lot more luck based kills than skill. In this version they’ve upped the recoil and ditched the random bullett spread. This way guns are more predictable and tap firing is highly effective. Harkens back to the gunplay of bf3/4 that a lot of the community wanted.
ah. yeah when i first played BF3 i was used to tapping to control recoil. Back in my CoD PC days there was a CoD 2 server id been playing on that threw on mods so you A. Couldnt spray and pray. B. Had to look down sights or youd be booted. C. The gun could jam! (it would happen randomly and youd have to hold down spacebar to unjam it) Also same as BFV you if youre hit you can bleed out. Interesting changed. So yeah it essentially taught me to use sights vs just running around like a clown. But BF1 trench guns are literal hip firing weapons. Theyre more accurate that way.
Started playing last night. Will be a fun 20+ hours but getting the web slinging down is gonna be the biggest learning curve. I also keep hitting Y/Triangle to counter ala the Arkham games but that’s wrong so I keep dying. I’d like Microsoft to make a game like this, but remember they kinda had with Insomniac and Sunset Overdrive and no one played it.
SO just took too long to unlock the full potential of traversal. It’s a shame how underappreciared that game went but I’m elated for the Insomniac devs that they got handed the keys to a major property.
BFV is such a legit game. If anyone wants to squad up, let me know. Don't think I've added any of you on XBL, but my gamertag is ougijoe. Also, just got Destiny 2 because a buddy wouldn't shut up about it. Haven't played yet, but it looks decent enough.
Played some of the BFV beta, but not enough to really feel one way or the other about it. It looks and sounds amazing, but DICE never seems to have any problems in that department. I'd be down.
No it’s not. But with the traversal, skill, open world and story, IMO it was as close as an Xbox exclusive has gotten to what Spider-Man is. I also don’t think Crackdown 3 will fill that void either.
Very sad that I missed the X deal but now I’m closing on a house which means buying a new 4K tv so now I want an X too. Patiently (not really) waiting for a deal
i cant get over how massive these maps are. i hate the yellow spot marker. Didnt realize you cant spot like before.
The one thing about bfv I’m most down about is the planes. They look and sound awesome but man, are they just boring to fly. They’re incredibly slow and not agile. Also since spotting has essentially been removed it’s even harder to engage ground targets. Dog fights are pretty boring too. They had the planes in a great spot with BF1 and I’m not sure why they had to go change everything. That said the tanks are fucking incredible.
