I’m an old white and like several Mac Miller songs. Feel free to ask me anything about his life and/or death.
well for those of you that don't know, he was a much better rapper/bigger deal than say, xxxtentacion, whom there was a 15 page thread for
It gives some insight into how narrow some people's interests are when they expect you to know all the same stuff they know. I also feel like there is strong crossover between that crowd and the "I listen to everything" crowd. Sorry not sorry for cunting it up
I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess all those pages werent about his death or his music specifically. So you want to spark the argument that takes this one to 16
That’s understandable. I don’t fault anyone for not knowing certain people, but I think posting that you don’t know a person in a thread about their death is lame and not funny.
Yeah iirc it was mostly about some rap beef and people acting like rap beefs are more highbrow than pro wrestling
I think it was about dbl wanting everyone to weep for a dead piece of shit who almost beat a woman to death.
I think the weirdest thing about this death for me is it’s the first time a musician I listen to died around the same age I am (29). Not only that kind of sad to follow his career and see how happy he seemed around the KIDS/BDE time compared to lately.
Sucks. Thought he had a great ear for production, too. Seemed sharper than he looked -- played multiple instruments decently well.
His set on NPR Tiny Desk was cool. I like the new album as well. RIP. https://www.npr.org/2018/08/06/635054748/mac-miller-tiny-desk-concert
I will admit that I’ve lost touch with music. At the same time, I’ve noticed that there are now approximately 800,000 new rappers who all have tattoos on their faces with colored hair that all seem to blend together.
Can we get a new thread icon? A lot of people are confusing it with the Youngstown state WVU game thread
I don’t think anyone was trying to be funny? I’m 40 and have never heard of this guy or his music. And that’s understandable because of my age and the fact that I don’t find that kind of music appealing.
I am old and white and rap isn’t even on my radar, I’ll join the don’t know who he was crowd and will no miss him
I’m 40. I’m white. I used to listen to rap. I’ve never heard one of his songs. Just like Post Malone the only reason I know this guy was alive is because he guested on Ridiculousness and when my son was an infant I binged that show because there is no plot and it could be interrupted every 5 minutes without having to rewind the DVR. Look at me. EDIT: I also found him humorous on there so I will mourn his passing
This doesn't affect my life in anyway but I had to come and here and tell you how much it doesn't affect my life in any way so you wouldn't have any doubts about whether this affected me.
what an idiot but i gotta respect the audacity of telling him he should shut up and play as he mourns his friend. just an aggressively dickheadish move
