Looks like Soto's trial went well. Just turned 18 and the move to Hannover is official.

16 year old MF and u16 captain Will Vent was released from Man U do to visa issues. Said he’ll sign with Sporting, Philly or Atlanta’s academy. Obviously for his USMNT future and development we’re all hoping he signs with sporting.

Best franchise possibly, but I’ve must of blinked once or twice because I haven’t noticed “massive” amounts of minutes Carleton and Bello have logged with the first team.

An American can’t officially sign in Europe until they’re 18 unless they have a passport from an EU country.

Then the EPL has their strict UK Work Permit laws and countries like France, Netherlands, and Spain have non-EU player limits. In the case of the Netherlands, it’s a high minimum salary.

Germany doesn’t have really any non-EU rules, which is why we’re seeing a lot of ours head there.

Is the number of US kids getting into academies overseas and shit some sort of Pulisic effect, or are they all actually more talented than the last few generations?

    1) More talent
    2) More press around it, so players you never heard of you now hear about
    3) Pulisic effect and Germany realizing that their is free prospects in the US that could give them access to American market which is growing

Zyen Jones isn't getting signed years ago, but players like Reyna have been signing abroad for years.

To add to what Triceratops said, it's been 11 years since the development academy was implemented. Makes sense that we're kind of just starting to see effects from it the last couple years.

We're still miles and miles behind other nations in youth development, but that just shows how bad it was a decade ago.

Seemingly, very good. It feels weird because he wasn't really ever talked about a month ago, but Bayern put him on the field (in a meaningless friendly to be fair) and signed him after a couple weeks. Bayern's manager even listed him as one of about 5 players at CB as reasoning for why they didn't need to make any CB signings.

From limited highlights and reading scouting reports: Elite closing speed, very good on the ball marking, calm and comfortable on the ball.

Ledezma to PSV seems to be happening shortly after he turns 18. Had a really good trial with them and was moved up to the U23's in a short time a few weeks ago.

    Also

Dad is a Colombian who played in MLS. Some saying that he wasn't eligible to play for the US until he turns 18 shortly. Hopefully that's why he hasn't been.

The U20's beat Jamaica 3-1 with Soto having a brace

The U19's tied Venezuela's U20's. (We actually shit the bed and were up 2-0 in the 87th minute, but by all accounts outplayed them) Taylor Booth (Just turned 17 and is supposedly on his way to Bayern) picked up one of the goals and is probably and is probably our biggest hope for a high level CAM in the future. Pretty impressive result considering most of our best 2000's are with the U20's. (Richards, Gloster, Mendez, Dest, Soto, Carleton)

Well this is an awesome story. 5 year old orphan from Ethiopia gets adopted by American parents in 2011. Won the national punt/pass/kick competition in 2013 shortly after picking up a football for the first time. Knew 1 word of english when adopted and was unused to even the most basic comforts of a first world country. (The first time he was handed a cold bottle of water he kept dropping it because he'd never touched anything that cold before) He's now an uber-prospect in soccer living in Connecticut.

In the most Tab Ramos development ever, Dave Van Den Bergh's US U19's beat Ramos' U20's- with all the top U19 eligibles playing for the 20's- and win the Florida invitational tournament.
