Just finished up Episode 7. Fucking fantastic writing. Edit: This season really has like a Breaking Bad kind of feeling. I like it more.
I was so irritated that she had the volume on her keypad so high and you could hear the fucking clicking as she typed. Maybe it's just me, but I can't believe no one else is fucking disturbed by the insanity of living on that enormous lake and killing people and burying them in your backyard. Not to mention that Marty owns a fucking funeral home. The Snells are the worst. I've never hated anyone on a show more .
No need to worry though... they can always just dig up dead relatives with bones significantly older than a 3 month old corpse and then coerce the medical examiner into lying. No big, they got this.
i am through 6 episodes of season 2 so far and it just isn't good. it enjoyable just from a binge watch/popcorn flick perspective but its not good. they abandoned the slow burn of season 1 and decided to go with crazy, rushed and implausible plot points that keep outdoing the previous episode. like the kansas city mob stuff. they were so against the casino that they shot a trucker's hand off. then one 5 min meeting that episode and everything is good to go. it feels rushed and forced its like a better 24 i guess and functions as more of a guilty pleasure compared to season 1 which i thought was more thought out and well constructed.
Not sure why, but this didn't come to mind while watching and usually this shit bugs the hell out of me. Maybe the characters kind of take me over the hump?
i really like bateman so i will keep watching. and honestly enjoy it for what it is. a popcorn flick that is a more sophisticated 24. really like wendy and ruth too i know it is a tv show and you have to suspend belief but the cartel being ok with doing business with a guy who has a) stolen from them b) helped cover up murdering one of their high ranking members and c) is openly under fbi investigation is just so dumb. that's one thing where they keep adding crazy plot points (the bodies, killing ash, whatever foolishness they introduce in the last few episodes) and it cheapens the show a lot
It's definitely an imperfect show. To be honest the cartel having such unencumbered reach in the Ozarks bothers me more. Not sure why as an American I would need to fear the cartel tracking me down and murdering me in that shit hole or in most places in this country.
It's a show that's so all over the place, I don't really know how to take it sometimes. Laura linney is just incredible in it, and the her caveman daughter just ruins every scene. Cade is a fucking horrible actor and character. It's weird how there's several characters are just fantastic and the the rest are terrible. And NYGator I completely agree that the plot issues are hard to overcome at times. I still enjoyed it overall, but it feels so incomplete and poorly done. It has a little bit of a season 2 True Detective feel to me.
Yea i agree, i’m entertained but there are a lot of plot points that are beyond insane. The cartel are like “hey we monitored your computers” i’m like oh shit they know about the plane tickets, but nope. The fbi arent listening in on their home after they search it? The fbi arent reading text messages. Them having keyboard sounds on etc. I really dont get caught up in details like that because normally i accept that its a tv show and everything wont be 100% realistic, but a lot of this just seems so fucking lazy imo. The story from season 1 and 2 are almost identical just with different people being an issue. Season 1 someone wears a wire. Season 2 someone wears a wire. Season 1 some langmores want the money. season 2 different langmores want the money. etc etc etc. the pilot episode of this show was fucking amazing tv but its not really been close since.
I think the cartel 100% knew. That's why Helen brought it up in the last episode. Saying they thought the Byrde's were going to run once the casino was up and running definitely wasn't a coincidence. They knew.
I thought Cade was going be to a different character when he got out. Thought, conniving and calculated. Instead he was smash and grab with no real foresight. Also wondered why the FBI weren’t tailing the Cartel goons throughout middle of nowhere Missouri. Enjoyed the season tho. Btw who was the recipient of the bomb in the last episode?
Don't worry about Marty. He'll just buy a donut shop or a car wash and mix in the 60+ million dollars of cartel cash with the legit money and boom, laundered.
Just finished S2 One part that had me confused was the FBI part. Petty spends 2 years undercover investigating Marty...he finally gets enough for a search warrant, they find nothing and Marty refuses to cooperate....and they just....end the case? I also thought he wasn’t dead and was going to kill or arrest cade to end the episode
You didn't think he was dead after taking 8 cracks to the skull, a knife to the gut, and being sunk in the river?
I found two major plot holes in season 2. In the flashback episode with the snells, they go skinny dipping. However, Jacob keeps his boots on. No one would do that In the finale, Marty texts charlotte. It shows charlotte texting back and marty sees the texting bubbles. But she doesn’t have an iPhone so he wouldn’t be able to see this!!
I can’t stand the charlotte storyline Every episode is the same. “Charlotte we want you to come back.” “I haven’t changed my mind but I’m gonna sleep in my own bed and be around all the time.”
wrong Sofia Hublitz American Actress Sofia Hublitz is an American actress. She currently stars in the American television series Ozark as Charlotte Byrde. Wikipedia IMDb Born: Jun 01, 1999 (age 19)
she looks like hillary i hated most of the characters but big fan of ruth & buddy & jonah. will watch s3 might hope it wraps up and no s4 gtfo comparing this shit to breaking bad. it's decent but jfc
i just finished s2 and didn't mean to say all that shit to you 941Gator lil drunk and fucked up the quotes. good night
Just finished season 2 and You guys are right about some plot holes but as others have mentioned this is a good edge of the seat binge series. Not a S1 true detective masterpiece. Ruth is great, Jonah has some fantastic lines and late in the season was maybe my favorite of the show. Handing over that child to that sick bitch made my stomach turn. They better get that little boy back next season. I had a big issue when you basically told those assholes checkmate how they felt giving her the child was the correct move. This is with his wife going all Scarface on us and requesting a hit on Ruth’s pop. Could’ve done without the KC Mafia. Obviously it’s setting up next season but it would’ve been nice to slow the pace of this season down a touch and just not include them at all. RIP Buddy, you the man.
Just finally getting around to watching season 2, about to finish episode 7. This is a damn good season of TV.
