I asked the cart staff if there’s any shortcuts or corners you can cut to make it play any shorter. Got a very quick nope. It was originally 7000 yards and redid it to to make it this monster
Playing TPC Avenele Farms tomorrow Playing Hilton Head and here - https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.fo...-billionaires-on-a-model-of-philanthropy/amp/- at end of the month. Guy that got me on has played at damn near every big name course in American including PV, Augusta and CP. He claims this place is up there with them. I won’t be able to compare to them but excited to see it
Two of my buddies played at Congaree a few weeks ago. Still annoyed I didn't get an invite. Just the 2 of them stayed in the house the night before playing. A chef was there just for them, prepared a massive steak/seafood dinner. Then played the following day with either the pro or asst pro because they had nothing to do. It was a nice, sunny, Sunday and only one other twosome played golf that entire day. They mow the fairways twice per day. Everything is just way over the top for almost no reason. They basically said it was one of the coolest golf experiences ever (outside of the big 3 that you named), but just seemed like a massive, massive waste of money - referring to the operations of the golf course, not a waste of money to play it. It's incredible.
I don’t know how much it costs to play it because I didn’t pay and it was part of a resort package, but it is a fun course and playing a course that you can see on TV always adds a extra layer of enjoyment especially if you play well or make a birdie, which I did neither.
Assuming you mean Harbour Town? Thanksgiving time is going to be their peak rate. Probably going to run you $300-350. So depends if that’s worth it to you. Somewhat of a hot take here but I think it’s just a really nice resort course with tight fairways and tiny greens and 3 iconic holes to finish. The first 15 are nothing special but everything that time of year will be overseeded well and prime condition. Like someone mentioned it’s awesome to play a course that the pros play and you can watch on tv. They have a new clubhouse and good caddy program too. I really like the other two sea pines courses as well. Take a look at those. You can sometimes steal a good afternoon rate but will probably be tough that week.
Fair take for sure. $300 is a lot, but resort golf is often too expensive relative to the quality of the course. Played Old White TPC at Greenbrier and it was $400 and not as good as Harbourtown. It is a fun course with some cool template holes, but not significantly better than courses that cost $75-$100 Dad played Fisher Island last week and it was $100 for Top 20 in US. It is also only $300 unaccompanied guest, which is cheaper than Old White. My theory on those type of courses is to play them once unless somebody else is paying. Rounds are long, courses are typically difficult and only worth playing once. Played Sawgrass two years ago and only course on trip that I would enjoy playing frequently was Timuquana CC.
Agree with what most others have stated. It's cool because the pros play it. May River Club in Bluffton is an incredible golf course. It's private, but they do allow some public times also, but I think it's gonna run you close to $300 during peak season. I'm not much for paying $300 to play anywhere, but May River is a better course than Harbor Town if you're gonna spend the money. Just something else to look at.
Probably not. That's not really a tenable situation, and I imagine he'd have been left off the team if that was the case (they were allegedly arguing on the plane ride over, so whatever it was was known beforehand). He might have tried to hit her in the DMs though.
Agreed. But you can't have all three of them over there for the Ryder Cup when something like that happened. Everyone would have known about it, and I imagine Koepka, at the very least, would've been left home (probably DJ and Paula too) and replaced. It's definitely possible he was trying to slip in there and got caught though.
Can’t remember if it has been mentioned itt but kiawah has a winter golf/dining package they have been doing the past few years that is a heck of a deal. They just sent out the email two weeks ago. It’s 2 nights in the villas or sanctuary for 300/400 per night with either two rounds of golf or two meals, or some combination of the two any course/restaraunt they have. Just booked my 5 year anniversary in January and playing ocean course at noon before heading home. I’ve had some friends go a few times and split it up for basically 200/night and a round at the ocean course. I’ve also seen them send out last minute emails that are even better deals. Highly recommend getting on the email.

I hope Johnny takes up some median like twitter like brandel so he can still be a condescending dick to everyone.
