So, DJ Moore was our pick. Thoughts? I think I would have preferred Ridley but I admittedly hadn't seen Moore play much.
DJ Moore is a stud. I think if he was at a premier school everyone would be losing their minds with getting him where they got him. He's very versatile and helps that WR core a ton. What do you think they'll do with their 2 3rds? I almost want to see them package them and move up for a stud in the early second if possible.
Much rather have DJ Moore. Ridley's good, but Moore rates in the 97th percentile athletically compared to current NFL WR's. Ridley is two years older and in the 7th percentile athletically.
Need an OL, but tonight's got to be about adding help in the secondary. Need a safety and a corner both probably.
Lot of needs, but we won’t be a legitimate contender until they put an OL together that can keep Cam alive
Really like the Jackson pick, will be nice to have some speed, athleticism and swagger back there again. We'll see on Gaulden, solid player in college with some swagger too, but not a great athletic profile and transitioning to safety. Would expect interior OL, RB, TE, LB, QB and a DL today, in some variation.
He was also the best rated pass blocking RB in the NFL last year, which is probably his real value to our offense.
Went to practice on Saturday. I love Cam Newton but he is still maddeningly inaccurate even when it’s qb only drills throwing to staffers standing in one place. Airmailing the ball from 20 yards. McCaffrey looks like he traded some wiggle for some straight line power. Action Jackson is gonna be a hoot. DJ Moore looks like the real deal, as evidenced by his performance in first preseason game. Tree trunks for legs. Gauldin will likely make several home run plays and several home run mistakes this season. Luke is still good.
Yea if Eric Reid has two functioning arms and legs, he’s replacing Colin Jones immediately. Really happy with the offense and Cam so far. Unfortunately I don’t think Funchess will ever become a #1 and I am hoping the lone benefit of the early bye is that we can get DJ Moore more involved in the offense. A consistent weapon on the outside will open up even more room for CMC. Remains to be seen if TD has anything left but for whatever reason, our D has not looked as good as it should. If TD can play all three downs and we can play Shaq more at the hybrid nickel and therefore get Captain Munnerlyn’s sorry ass off the field, that should alone improve the third down defense. Lastly, Efke Ibada’s story is really special and I hope he keeps making plays and can stick.
Definitely got baited on that pick. He puts up stinker games like this one sometimes. Seems like lack of creative play calling has a lot to do with it usually.
Maybe finally our OC will decide maybe we should try Cam in the hurry up more than when we’re down 2 scores in the 4th quarter. Drives me nuts to see the no huddle work well every time we go to it out of desperation but otherwise break the huddle with 8 second left on the play clock.
I wasn’t able to watch the game today. Looks like we had one of our best games of the year. Would somebody please give me a synopsis of what happened?
Offense was super efficient early, we actually utilized DJ Moore, CMC, and to a lesser extent Samuels in explosive roles and turns out, they're explosive, and the D/ST put the Ravens in some bad spots that our O scored from. Easily our most complete game of the season. Ravens got a junk TD with a minute to go that made the score closer than the game was.
Forgot to add that Greg did Greg things and looked like himself a little bit too. He's still our most important offensive player IMO (other than Cam). He's the only one who truly knows how to find those holes in the zone and keep drives going.
Just getting back from the game. First complete game I’ve seen in a long time. Looks like we are hitting our stride at the right time. D.J. Moore really played well and made me forget about his game against the skins. Cam looked good. Mccaffrey was Very good. Luke was all over the place. Didn’t quite get as much pressure on Flacco as I wouldve liked, but D was very good today. Even the crowd is was into it. Fun day.
DJ Moore and CMC are like, really good. And so is our OL, which I never thought I’d say going into the year.
