I just had to replace the toilet in my guest bedroom. The plumber came out and told me there was no seat and lid in the box. I was fairly certain I bought the whole set up. It’s all fixed up now now he just used the old seat even though it’s a few centimeters off. I called Home Depot and they said it was at least two weeks and 50 bucks extra because it was an add on item. How the fuck is a seat on a toilet an add on item? The online photo showed a full toilet. That’s some bullshit.
I don’t want to sit down on a pee pee rim. The old one works fine but it’s not perfectly aligned. The color scheme is all black in that bathroom so it’s been harder to find the right stuff.
Need a thing or two on the wall but the master bedroom is completely done Before: Now: (Panoramic so it looks a bit different) Not pictured popcorn ceiling removed/repainted, new ceiling fan. Only thing we didn't do ourselves was install the new fan. Pretty proud and happy as hell to have a room completely done.
Does Sophie punk Stuart to stay on the floor? My dog Molly will punk out Dave sometimes. She does it in a playful fashion but I can tell she’s serious about keeping him in check. He tows the line without acting back. They’re both 100 lb dogs too so it’s a strange dynamic.
Opposite actually, Stuart will put her in her place when she pisses him off. He's 7 had him since he was a pup and Sophie just over a year now, rescued her when she was 1.
Just this weekend I planted a Pacific Sunset Maple in my backyard in the hopes of not getting sun blasted during the summer. Fall is the best time to plant trees fyi What it will look like when more mature
We planted some maples up at our cabin a few years ago, god damn moose chewing off half their growth each year. Will look great when they finally mature, no other trees with red leaves up here
My house buts up to an alley. We have a 6 foot fence, but I'd prefer to block more than 6 feet. Does anyone have any creative ideas to block an extra 2 feet? Also, I have travertine around my pool and I never got it sealed. Is that a necessity?
Our game day condo in Clemson has direct tv or a shitty local provider (northland) for cable and internet. We hooked up northland and got >1mb up and down, I laughed and disconnected it and returned it. We are looking at internet only solutions. Are there any LTE networks that will do a big gig or unlimited data card for us to use?
Verizon appears to have “unlimited” for $80/month on mifi. Speeds drop after 15 GB but I have no clue what the video quality is after that drop.
Inspection came back. House has mold. Ugh. Now to find out how much it is going to cost to get that shit removed before we can move forward
Just not a fan of the way they look in general although I know there are a ton of varieties. I tend to appreciate the burning bush, nice little surprise in the fall. Also arrowood viburnums but neither really fit his bill.
yea, that's definitely a real possibility. That's what I meant by move forward. need to know what I am dealing with before we can decide.
That's what I'm thinking. Was also thinking about ripping the fence down, building up the dirt a few feet and building a new fence on top. But that's more work/$
According to the companies i've contacted, since I have a down flow gas furnace & it's a certain height, my options are relatively limited. That said, i've gotten a few quotes, and they'll replace my current shitty AC unit with a 2.5 ton carrier 16 seer & 80% gas furnace with permits & installation for 5k. I'm very tempted to take that as some of the other quotes we're 5 digits. What's really frustrating is getting attentive contractors.
Anyone ever added motors to their blinds? I am looking at options to motorize my blinds so I can add them to a smarthub or Alexa device. I have blinds already and would like to utilize the ones I have if possible. I think lechnerd has done it.
My wife called freaking out this morning saying that it smelled like burning in the bathroom. She thinks it’s the fan. IF it is the fan and she isn’t being hysterical, can I just clean it or do I need to replace the engine?
Unless your like me with a old house and a weird style fan that isn't made anymore, than it's a super easy, cheap fix.
first estimate is back. simple fix of using machines to dry out the house and kill anything in the air. No need to tear down walls. Going to get a second opinion before making any decisions.
Previous owner planted about 8 feet of this (bamboo). I ground it all down. It left so many leaves in my pool/mulch.
How do you know you don't have areas of outside entry (in the walls or between your cinderblock/foundation) that will not reproduce mold? I had the same thing done and had to reseal a ton of spots where moisture was coming in from outside before cleaning the area and spraying the stuff that kills it in the AC.
inspection found no active leaks. Part of the reason why I want to have someone come out is to make sure there are no active leaks.
Interesting. I mean every house in south florida has mold... It doesnt scare me at all, but I'd be damn sure wherever I saw a bunch of spores that I triple checked that the areas of penetration were caught.
yea, it's not that high of a count and it's not toxic, but it's still there. I definitely want to know where it is coming from. My guess is the AC because it is 19 years old and had mold in it when inspected.
Mold wouldn’t be there without an active water supply. Eliminate the water, eliminate the mold. I’d try to at least negotiate a big cut from the price to deal with anything like the HVAC, new gutters, retaining walls, french drains etc that may be needed.
How much porn y'all planning on watching there? Don't think any LTE networks get speed that fast there, especially on gamedays.
I want to install a front door camera and also one on the back of my house to watch pool. Also looking to install a Nest or something similar. Suggestions?
Garbage disposals. I know it’s been mentioned in here before but our 12 year old builder model is on its last legs. Give me your recs
I have a few nest cams, I know there are cheaper options but I've been very happy with mine. Also, I have the Ecobee as my smart thermostat like the good TMB poster I am.
Painting finally under wraps. Starting on cabinets tomorrow and hopefully lights get wired in this weekend. Starting to see light at the end of the tunnel. Matched the fireplace in the den to the kitchen cabinets and cabinets also going in on both sides of the fireplace.
