I ended up going with this for 100 dollars off: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/msi-15...MQlS73y-N5QYKvkWnHgaAqg3EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds It runs well and does everything I need it to.
Nope. I think I need a new motherboard. Considering whether to get a bundle with cpu and mobo because the i5 2500k or whatever, the L1155 (I think) chipset, is a bit older.
I wouldn't think that the mobo would prevent the display from getting a signal. if the pc is powering on you would think both the mobo and power supply are working it's not a bad investment though, you could roll with a 3 year old mobo designated for gaming and be fine
It remains a mystery to me. I'm disappointed that I can't figure it out. One thing to point out in my search is that we intend to game and stream. So while I've read that Ryzen processor stuff is better for gaming, we still need to take the streaming aspect into account.
No doubt. We started out just wanting the barebones pc but the addiction to push things higher is starting to kick in, to my bank account's growing sense of dread.
this was me when I first started building my pc last year. i am now poor, but my pc is a monster ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
If you loved NES/Sega Metriod /Castlevania type games check out Dead Cells it came out last night. I'm loving it and telling all gamers on every platform to check it out
I watched Colin do a Let's Play on it, looks pretty great. I have had it on my Steam Wishlist for months, will get it on next sale.
http://a.co/d/76til6J This might be what we're going with. Nice sale and lots of good specs I believe. Will have to ditch the old Intel 2400K cpu or whatever, but Ryzen produces some good stuff. Thoughts or recs?
ASUS ROG is solid. Have you gone to pcpartpicker and looked at some of their example builds or recent builds? If you’re still undecided I would suggest doing that.
I use harman kardon soundsticks. They look like glass dildos, but sound great. I had the Logitech Z323 mentioned above, and the soundsticks were a significant upgrade fwiw. Price difference was like 40$ vs. 100ish though.
I gave you probably the best speakers for under $50. I just figure you're most likely not looking for $150 speakers for a pc
I used to have an older version of the Z3xx as well, upgraded to Logitech MX Sound 2.0 and it's much nicer and looks nice. No way I could live with glass dildos, I have some self respect. $78: mx sound 2.0

Anyone recently bumped their GPU? Have an older R9 4 GB card that feels a bit long in the tooth. Worth it to go 1070 ti over 1070?
Just installed and OCed my new 2080 TI and 9700k yesterday. Who needs money when your PC gets 600 FPS on CSGO... And the 1070 TI looks like around 20% better, so definitely worth the upgrade there.
I already own one of the games in this months Humble Monthly. Anyone want Cities Skyline + After Dark DLC for free? Shoot me a PM. Edit: gone
New DLC for Stellaris on Thursday. Finally, I can sell xeno slaves on the intergalactic stock market. I don't like Paradox's DLC model, they're usually overpriced for the amount of content. I'm addicted to this game however, so I guess I'm gonna have to buy it.
Leave it to Paradox to change a game that I've played for 2 years so much, I don't even know how to play it anymore.

It's so tempting. Might grab the DLC for Grim Dawn. Maybe a RTS or two. I really want Divinity 2 but I know that game is going to take 100+ hours. You grabbing anything?
First glance, I'm probably going to get The Witness, cheapest its ever been and I've heard so many good things. Haven't looked much deeper to see if there's anything else, lots of stuff on my wishlist is on sale but the percentages don't really grab me this time around.
Bought a steelseries headset, like it a lot more than my Logitech one. Tempted to swap out the m+kb for steelseries too.
Finally got the Mobo/CPU that I'll need to fix the pc. AMD Ryzen 5 2600 with an ASUS Prime B450-A/CSM AM4 AMD B450 mATX. So many acronyms. Building this weekend, ready to fucking go.
I want to do a rebuild on my system after the next gen systems come out in 2020, but my 750Ti is very dated at this point. What is a reasonable card to get me through a year or so? My Mobo can handle SLI, or however you can connect two GPUs. I would think that would be my best bet, but do many games support that? I remember PUBG not being able to. Edit: Will most likely give my old PC to my brother or use it as a media editing machine.
I would avoid SLI if possible. You can grab a 1050 or 1060 which would be a nice upgrade for not too much $
