There's a reason Howard likes to play with puppets, all those people have been his puppets for years. Without Howard, whatever show they tried to make would be terrible.
The Sal apology prank was on over the weekend and one of the most underrated comments that Sal makes, while trying to defend himself by saying his comments weren't racist, was that he was the victim of a "lynching"
Yeah, that was insane. He should have asked for traction after the fact. The guy has a ton of black friends. Kevin Lofton is a friend of his.
This Beetle tribute has gotten me to tune into the channels more this week than in the previous 6 months combined
Also - anybody hear the wrap up show today? Starting next Monday its moving to 101 and playing after the west coast feed and then they will go straight in to sternthology. They also said they would be able to go longer if they wanted to. So now 101 is west coast feed, wrap up, sternthology, wrap up, sternthology. 100 is purely the live show and replay. Wonder what this move is all about.
Richard Simmons from 2007 on Sternthology today. All time greatest guest, IMO. My name is Cheryl. I am your daughter.
Crazy thing is Howard probably has more writers than he has ever employed. They’re either not talented or Howard 86s most ideas because it’s too risky for trying to get more A list celeb interviews. Do you really need 10+ writers for a show that is Howard talking, lame staff drama for the most part, celebrity interview, Robin’s news. Then an occasional prank call or Shuli being the conduit to the Wack Pack, which he’s good at. Mike Trainor collecting a salary from Howard Stern is criminal. Long gone are the days of a chick or her bf doing something crazy for free breast implants. I mean an interview with fucking Robert Pattinson last year?
Howard is a great interviewer but too many times for my liking he jumps in and redirects a guest in the middle of an interesting anecdote. loved that Ringo wasn't having it & gave him a, "let me finish!!"
I haven't stopped completely, but I have been listening to music on long drives a lot more than I used to.
anytime they try to awkwardly shoehorn something into becoming a Ronnie segment, i'm immediately on to ESPNU radio.
i used to like Andy Staples when he was a guest during segments. he's insufferable with his own show, always thinks he's the smartest guy in the room. typical UF grad.
I had to drive from WPB to Clearwater for Thanksgiving. I have a pack of every Eric the Midget call ever. I started that and just couldnt stop laughing
Howard has taken up the role of armchair psychologist for his celeb interviews and more often than not, it works. It was clear that he thought he would be able to get to Ringo by talking about the fear he must've felt as a young lad in Liverpool. When Ringo told him that he doesn't live a fearful life it shut Howard down.
This is an amazing read which heavily features EEO and how he grew up. It's long but worth it. https://www.therialtoreport.com/2018/12/02/avon/#comment-26919
