My buddy is a raiders fan and was pissed about the handling of the Mack fiasco. Now Carr can be cut next season if the team thinks he sucks. With him gone how are you going to open a new $2b stadium with essentially an expansion team without the excitment of something fresh. Gruden looks like the game passed him by.
They won't cut Carr, if anything he'll be traded. I believe Gruden actually likes carr and it's most of the reason he took the job. I think the only way we move on from Carr is if Gruden feels like he needs an excuse for a longer rebuild or if gruden just falls absolutely in love with someone in the draft since we'll be picking top 10 for the next few years
Gruden is actually a good coach, which is the frustrating part. He just has no idea how to be in charge of personnel.
He’s also miles behind in terms of offensive innovation and understanding today’s NFL. McVay is what Gruden thinks he is, which is absolutely hilarious.
Yeah his concepts are old and annoying but a lot of them are working and the ball is moving. But old Jordy Nelson as #2, Doug Martin, and martavis Bryant is just killing us. And the fact that we can't cover or provide pressure just puts the offense in a deeper hole as the game goes on
He also refuses to give lynch the ball is clear lynch situations and would rather involve the fullback or tight end
i know this is a joke but i will just live in this fantasy world a while longer where this is a real thing
Jerry can only be contained for so long. You know it chapped his ass that the cowboys were drafting offensive linemen in the 1st round instead of Johnny Manziels
I think the trade is fine for the cowboys. Amari is enough to hopefully grab some safety attention and thus allow the cowboys top offensive player a little bit of room. They clearly need a WR, so they could’ve tried with a rookie next year and punt this season which is kindve a waste considering the division looks to be wide open. Also it’s not exactly a sure bet that they will hit a Hr w a wide receiver in the draft or will secure a game breaking retread free agent. Cooper is still only 24 too. Honestly the boys receiving core could do with cooper + a top tier rookie wr in the draft + proven free agent role player if they want to be title contenders in today’s nfl. As for the raiders... yikes. A bird in hand is worth two in the bush. Unless you are riding the Gruden wave I guess...
I am very clearly not on the Gruden wave. But this was a great move for the raiders. There is no reason to pay amari the money he wants considering the lack of production and his usage in the offense. Would have been a terrible move to turn down a first for him
The Raiders are doing the long play by tanking 2019 to draft Tua before they move to Vegas. Not a horrible idea.
The problem with all those draft picks is that Gruden’s doing the picking. He’s not exactly known for his scouting prowess.
didn't he say he would give it back if he doesn't get the job done? they should have gotten that in writing.
This reminds me of a worse version of Joe Gibbs coming back to coaching. He might know football, but he seems so behind the times and isn't going to get it right
You'd think all those weeks in the MNF booth would have given him a clue that he needed to evolve past his mid-2000's style.
His style isn't really the problem. The offensive concepts are fine and have worked a lot this year. Could they be less 1999? Sure. But the personnel he brought in is horrendous and he ruined one of the best lines in football with Tom cables shit
Some raider just retired after the game in the locker room. Not sure who, seen a few guesses, a lot Jordy related Also, this happened on 4th down down two touchdowns with like 4.5 minutes left. Jesus Christ Gruden
Gruden brought in tom cable and ruined the interior of our line and then drafted a couple shit tackles and here we are
After the argument yesterday he'd deal Carr like today if the deadline hadn't passed because he's a petty bitch
No defense for not knowing the rules, he's not mentally tough enough to handle Gruden. I thought the young guys on D played well..even though it was the Cardinals, but you gotta start somewhere.
Lol he's plenty mentally tough. Gruden isn't mentally tough enough to coach. He's a fucking coward and has been since he got the job
You watched that whole mack thing play out and didn't see how cowardly it all is? Saying things like "oh well he held out so he obviously didn't want to be a raider" You see the way he tries to pass the blame on roster management which is almost entirely his fault? The guy brought in all of his own people and they're all terrible from the players to the personnel department to most of the coaches and he stands at the podium and says things like "well it's hard to find pass rushers" and "we need more playmakers"
