I just watched Pet Sematary and that's like a 10/10 premise with 4/10 execution. I'm in for that remake coming out next year.
As amazing as episode 6 was, I think episode 5 was my favorite. That one had me saying "oh holy fuck."
It's not great but for those just watching Cabin in the Woods check out Tucker and Dale. It's not in anyway the same but both are kind of send ups on traditional horror. They may be my be my two favorite "scary movies".
Started it last night. Pretty creepy and interesting. If you like those shows on discovery and sci fi where people reflect on hauntings. I watched the first 3. Seems they found the worst of the worst especially episode 2. Holy shit was it fucked up. One thing they do different is sit friends and family around and have the family members tell the story and then cut to reenactments. Worth a watch if you’re into that stuff. Nothing groundbreaking though. I’ll finish it
I had to stop after episode two. Enjoyed the first episode, but that followed by the second one had me calling bullshit. Then the guy from the first episode is a film maker and I was out. I need a sense of realism in shows like that.
There's no way they don't make another sequel/movie. I really hope the horror slasher movie genre gets revitalized with Halloween 2018.
i was watching episode 7 today and at the end where Spoiler zombie nell started crawling towards the dad and theo at the funeral home my dog literally started barking at that exact moment at the door. it had me shook af
I honestly didn't think HH was that scary. I just thought it was fantastically done. I may need a late night dark rewatch. I watched it mostly in the morning before the kid woke up.
Agree with this. There were a few moments that were scary but I didn’t think it was “terrifying” by any stretch. That said I thought it was great.
Probably about time. Last time there was a true resurgence was probably the original Scream. There were a ton of slasher film after that.
I didn't either but I can't recall any film or show that was truly scary. I guess Exorcist got me pretty good when I was a kid.
The part of the Exorcist that creeps me out the most is her speaking with an Italian accent in Father Karras's mom's voice.
man upped my Netflix to premium so I could stream full glory 4K last night. shit really does make a huge difference. watched first episode of Haunted. pretty creepy, not quite sold on it.
8 episodes down in HoHH, enjoying the show. Jump scare in 8 caught us off guard, wife refused to take the dog outside alone last night lol. It's a good show, lot of good character building and story.
5 was incredible. Fell asleep during the middle of it, but woke up Spoiler right when the music started playing, and she was dancing with her husband. Being half awake during that scene was horrifying.
Spoiler That part was so haunting. Also, when hanging Nell kept dropping down to show her in all the prior scenes as the bent neck lady... That was just really well done.
Yeah that is when I called it a night and went to bed. I went one episode too far for nightly watching.
Also, that was a great twist I was not expecting. I like how they go back and show previous scenes but from a different perspective.
holy shit balls, just finished episode 8 of Hill House Spoiler This was literally me after the Nell jump scare in the car, minus the crying of course, because I'm a man Seriously though, I've never been gotten that hard Watched Errementari last night too, pretty unique and enjoyable, I'd recommend watching with the original audio though because the English voice overs are pretty campy
Loved HoHH. Didn't love the ending, but by that point, I didn't need it to sell the series. Hereditary was extremely disappointing given the hype.
I loved the ending, thought it was really good, and extremely emotionally engaging for a “horror” show/movie.
the casting for hill house is so good. all the kids look just like their adult counterparts and the older dad has the same eyes as the younger version
Spoiler Got us so good also, don't think I've ever jumped that hard watching a movie/show. Emotional talking scene just like the previous one with the guys so I was just chilling lol
Wasn’t a huge fan of Steven if I’m honest, but not enough to be an issue. Great series all around. Been annoying as fuck to everyone I know, insisting they watch it like an asshole.
5 and 6 need to be watched together back to back I feel. 5 leading into 6 and the emotional tension in 6 is great
Spoiler The entire series lures you into a sense of comfort that jump scares like that aren't coming, and then that fucking shit. My wife screamed at the top of her lungs. It was amazing.
I sat back thinking “those guys on tmb are girls. I’ll be ready for the scare” It just lulled my ass to sleep and boom.
I accidentally read one of the spoilers, so I knew it was coming. Spoiler But I thought it was going to be in the car with dad & Steven, so it still got me. It was also the only time I jumped during the series. Considering I was expecting it, that’s pretty damn good.
