Playing through red dead 1 for the first time, knowing that 2 is only a couple weeks from dropping is
Got the X and my tv tonight. Movers are doing all the big stuff tomorrow. Cable guy coming late morning. I’ve already put together my tv stand and have my brother and a friend coming over in the afternoon to help put together some other stuff which will include mounting my tv onto a swivel mount that will sit on the tv stand. That tv looked so much larger in the box than on the wall of large TVs. Got the Tomb Raider one. It was that or PUBG. Didn’t have 2K one at this Best Buy. Grabbed Fantastic Beasts 4K Blu-ray also
RDR2 Tidbits: - Launch trailer comes out tomorrow (Thursday, October 18) - Online multiplayer will not be available until "November" - Can start pre downloading it on Friday Mad about the 2nd bullet. Kind of sucks not having even the ability to play with friends until a week after release. https://www.businessinsider.com/red...d-redemption-2-will-launch-in-november-2018-9
Not worried about short delay for online. Especially if the story/campaign is anywhere close to the 60 hours they claim.
It’s rockstar so I’m sure it’ll be weeks after release. I hope they get multiplayer right. GTAV online had a lot of good and bad. Some pretty great game modes coupled with terrible online free roam made for pretty inconsistent gameplay. Online is such a cash cow for rockstar that I’m sure they’re trying to get it right. The little amount of detail they’ve revealed leaves me a bit concerned.
Yeah, I don't care about the online aspect of the game whatsoever. I'll play it, but I'm buying it for the single player.
They don’t want to distract anyone from the campaign. They staggered the release of online for a reason. By the time it launches, online will offer something completely different from the campaign.
GTA V Online was an absolute trainwreck for about a month after release anyways. Might as well take an extra month and iron out all the details. I'm sure it'll be very similar to GTA V where they milk it for years to come too
GTA online was ok. not much to do alone, could play a couple hours with friends then i got bored. played the shit out of RDR online, and taking over forts, doing missions over and over, working on wanted bounty and getting the marshals after you while also defending against other players.
GTA online was most fun just free roaming and dicking around with friends And some of the unconventional races were fun
Loved RDR online, loved GTA online and am excited for RDR2 online. I’m glad they stagger the release tho so I can give my full attention to the campaign
Taco Bell is doing their yearly Xbox giveaway. Taco Bell Exclusive "platinum" Xbox One X with an Elite controller. It will also make the Taco Bell bell "bong" sound whenever it's turned on. Codes come on the $5 double chalupa box or, if your store offers them, the $5 cravings box. Giving away over 5,000 of them and it's one every 10 minutes.
I’ve had it on digital for a while but saw there was an update for it. I ran a play through of HL2 and the first and second episodes a few months back, still an absolutely top 5 game for me.
Half Life 2 was such an incredible and well before it’s time experience on that first play through. Just really flipped the script wrt narrative and atmosphere in video games at the time. Not to mention it was gorgeous and fun. Played through again last year and it still holds up pretty damn well given its age. Also, fuck Gabe Newell as a staff record label and as mother fuckin crew. I remember thinking when I played HL2 11 years ago that I couldnt wait to go after Alex and wrap up Free-mans story. Never thought I’d be here still waiting
They have zero interest in making three imo. Plus is there any way it could live up to expectations at this point?
Why couldn't Amazon just sell digital copies as well as physical, then release that as soon as they legally can? Or maybe they already do that?
Hope you've got some good internet. I'm not sure my doo-doo apartment complex wifi could finish a 107 GB file in 24 hours.
Update 10/18/2018: Through its support page, Rockstar has officially confirmed the respective file sizes on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Both the physical and digital versions on Xbox One weigh in at 107 GB. On PlayStation 4, 99 GB will be required for the physical version, while the digital version calls for "an additional 50GB for the installation process," bringing its hard drive space requirement up to a whopping 149 GB. Update 10/15/2018: A Microsoft Store listing reveals that the Xbox One version of Red Dead Redemption 2 has an approximate size of 88.57 GB. It's not currently clear if that's a download or install size (consoles require more than the core download size to initially install files) - we've contacted Microsoft for clarification.
So I think that means you'll probably have the core install at 88.57 and then additional for.. maybe the multiplayer later? Like you can play the campaign with the core 88GB?
It's all about that gigabit life. Spoiler But I don't recall ever seeing more than ~350mbps on my console
Wired. From what I can tell it's a console thing. The hardware doesn't seem good enough to handle higher speeds or maybe it's a server limitation for consoles. I've downloaded Play Anywhere titles on my PC before and can get full speed there.
Max download speed I get on my X is 255 Mbps. It’s definitely a server limitation. Running a speed test on it shows around 400Mbps
Got rid of my original Xbox One like an idiot a few months back and I'm jonesin to game bad. This is an awesome deal right?
Stupid question here... I went back through the thread and looked for headset recommendations. Are you guys using these $40-60 ones to play all of the sound or just to talk to people?
