You can output the game and chat sound to pretty much any headset. The headset adapter is pretty vital if you want to be able to control the levels of each separately.
You can't do that in the settings of the xbox? Basically I'll spend 100 on this, if I have to get a 40 dollar adapter I'm getting shittier headphones. I want to get these
i use my sony gold headset with the xbox... the xbox headset adapter is a must, for me tho, so i can control if i want more game sound or chat sound, plus volume, plus mute.
I have those and I use the adapter. The idea is that you can control them on the fly with your fingers on the adapter instead of having to bring up a menu to adjust sliders. When I play Fortnite with a party, there are times where I want to hear the game more if there are footsteps nearby, for instance. Bringing up an xbox overlay menu would surely mean death.
Maybe Xbox specific ones have the volume splitter built in but I use my Sony Platinum headset for Xbone. Wish I was at my console to give you a definitive answer on whether those actually require the dongle or if that’s just for being able to control without pausing.
Actually for anyone in same boat as me: https://www.theverge.com/good-deals...on-2-sale-gamestop-best-buy-walmart-microsoft
Is it possible to change your Xbox timezone in order to go ahead and start playing this now? I've heard of this working before, but it may only work if I had switched to NZ time before making the purchase. Also, GameSpot and IGN reviews for it are out this AM (9 and 10 respectively): ETA: Credit to Taco Sa1ad for first telling me the reviews were out
I did this for pubg and played a day early with what I assume was a bunch of aussies. Can’t remember if I bought it on that time zone or not. Give it a try and let us know.
At about 1:03, it shows him chopping wood and then getting killed. What's the point of including that? Like was it bad for the kid to ask him to just go chop wood, or was it just a random add to the video? Edit: I also never mind bumping this video
Thanks for the help. I ended up grabbing those Hyper X. Turns out I didn't need the adapter because the headphones have it built in and you can control it manually on the cord or something.
Took my Xbox one to GameStop today to trade in for the red dead/one X deal. Forgot I had broken the seal on my Xbox so they wouldn't take it (also fell through the bag I was carrying walking into store and had a nice 4 ft drop to concrete). Said fuck it and bought the X anyways Gotta go back tonight to pick up the game
I mean which One X console? If you can stack the red dead offer with a console that already includes a game or accesroy that's really sizable difference.
i dont think there's a choice... i just figured if they announced a bundle, they would have put some cool graphics on the console. guess it's really no different than the bundles that included PUBG, or the sports ones.
Yes, I like it. Took awhile to get used to the controls. Hoping they add more maps for free but will prolly be just dlc garbage
Went with the S. I don't game enough to justify the X right now. After tax though $285 for 1 TB S, 2K19, Red Dead, and 3 months of live. I'm overjoyed.
Can’t fucking wait to get home from work and install Red Dead. My significant other is occupied until tomorrow around dinner time, so I’m looking at 8-10 hours tonight.
I started playing on a monitor connected with HDMI. I am doing sound through headset but I'm a little disappointed I can't get sound to speakers for sports or YouTube. Anyone have a fix if you're running HDMI to a monitor without speakers?
citrodong the xbox should have an option to output audio separate from the HDMI connection. I don't know the rest of your set up, but that's where I would go to change the setting.
Put in a few hours on RDR2 today. Does it make me a bad person that I murdered someone just cause I wanted their hat?
I never can be a dick in video games. I always feel too bad, but I’m commmited to being a piece of shit now.
Just came in here to post that I’m jealous of all of you that get to game. Between the new job and 2 kids I barely have time to look at my consoles. Good news is that by the time I can play, the games will be discounted so much. Game on.
Has blackout been fun on COD? Everyone seems to say it’s the best experience for Battle Royale but I remain skeptical
I can't get into it. I've played a few times and tend to get shot up as soon as I land and before I find a gun. I can see team play being fun
As an avid PUGB fan (and a player of Fortnite from time to time), Blackout is the best battle royale experience on the market right now. The biggest downside, in my opinion, is the quick to die mechanic...but everything else is flawless. Its a lot of fun. I'm a huge COD hater since MW2 but this game is a lot of fun. Totally worth the purchase.
Just COD gameplay in general...and where the Blackout is just much faster paced than PUBG. It's all first person too so if you start getting shot in the back, you are pretty much done. You learn to adapt to it though.
That's pretty prevalent in any BR game though. There's a lot of luck of the draw stuff at the start. You die quick, load into the next one and maybe you're the one with a good gun at the start tearing through unarmed players. I've been playing a ton. Mostly duos and quads but a decent amount of solos thrown in as well. I love it. Big streamers who have been playing various BR games for years now were pretty pumped for a AAA BR mode and I was somewhat skeptical because it's COD but they really did do a great job.
got the white elite controller 2 days ago. tried hair triggers, and my right one is sticky, as if it stops 25% of the way down, then you can feel it click when pressed the rest of the way.. taking it back today. hope they have more in stock.
I appreciate the input as well. I’ve been on the fence about buying it. Red Dead is taking up the few hours a week I have to game at the moment, but I’ll probabaly pull the trigger in a month or two.
The quality control on Xbox controllers this generation is disgusting. I think I've had a total of 8-9 controllers now and 2-3 of them had issues out of the box then a couple more developed issues over time. The only 360 controller I ever had a problem with, and I gamed a lot more during that gen, was the one with the rotating D-pad and that was because I messed with it during loading screens too much.
