He was part of the Trump campaign and transition team (briefly). He would have to recuse himself from any investigation into those entities.
More like moving to Columbus and Cincinnati. The rest of the state’s old manufacturing economy died or is dying. Columbus Metto has been growing at a double digit clip since the 1980’s and Cincinnati Metro around 5%. Youngstown is 1/4 the size it was in 1950. From 1980-2000 the Steubenville-Wheeling Metro lost a higher percentage of population than any other statistical area surveyed, literally dead last.
Rust Belt states in ranking of liberal to conservative. 1. Illinois — solidly blue due to Chicago, which dominates the otherwise useless rest of the state 2. Minnesota — light blue to solid blue. Has been slower to get red in general. 3. Michigan — purple to light blue. Detroit/Flint/Lansing/Ann Arbor are pretty blue while the rest of the state is varying shades of red. 4. Pennsylvania — probably in a tie with Michigan. Philadelphia more blue than anywhere in MI but Central PA scary red. 5. Wisconsin — pretty much purple. Has seen non-Milwaukee/Madison turn reddish quicker than its non-urban neighbors in Michigan and Minnesota. 6. Ohio — purple to light red. Ohio has always been more conservative than its eastern and northern neighbors. I think less concentration in cities compared to Michigan and everything south of Columbus besides the Cincinnati city limits being the Diet South is why. 7. Indiana — pretty solidly red at this point. Went to Obama in ‘08 but that was a huge outlier. There’s more KKK members in the Hoosier State than anywhere else.
He would - which is why he won't get the job. Unless the investigation concludes before the nomination happens
Of course not. But that’s Kemp for ya. Seems like his suppression tactics worked and they will come up short on a runoff. Which would be awesome if we had gotten there
Didn't realize this until today but Michigan's new AG is the first openly gay person to hold a statewide office. Good for her
No and the idiot is only doing it now after the fact making it look much worse and shows how inept he was at his job
Means he isn't the one that will verify the results. So he cheated all the way until the final and then did what he should have done in like June.
In a just world Kemp would already be behind bars and Ginsburg wouldn't be fracturing ribs, but here we are.
Ah. I thought there was a chance for a runoff. It would seem weird to cheat your way to the goal line and then sub out before you score
doesnt arizona dump a bunch of new votes this afternoon? seems like the gop lawyering up before that indicates they're pretty worried
Might have already been mentioned but looks like noted douchebag Tom MacArthur is going to lose his seat in NJ after the absentee ballots are all counted. That's nice pickup
I grew up in central PA. It is as red as any southern state. Exact same mentality. With that said, a good democratic candidate always easily takes Philly and Allegheny County (Pittsburgh). The trend starting to show is that Erie and the Scranton/WB area are starting to consistently swing more towards blue but the 'kentucky' part of Pennsyltucky will always be bright red. Hilary didn't even bother visiting PSU, which was a mistake imo. Instead she sent Bill to a PSU branch campus in Erie. Sure she visited PA a lot but she stuck to the edges. All that being said, PA can turn blue with good messaging. Hilary lost by 44k votes, that's nothing out of 6m+ votes.
Instant runoff means you rank your choices for the spot. Let's say I greatly like the Green Party and really hate the republicans. Rather than give the republicans the seat, I would be forced to vote democrat under the "normal" system. In ranked choice / instant runoff, I can vote Green Party with my first chooice and then rank the Democrat second as my fallback choice if the Green Party candidate doesn't win. The lowest ranked candidate gets dropped and the votes recounted (with second choice replacing that candidate on ballots that ranked him first). That process is repeated until somebody breaks the 50% threshold.
DL = don lemon The internet and trump + racism is just a dangerous cocktail for our country right now
Yeah, keep an eye on the totals in Maricopa County. Currently, there's around 975,000 counted votes with a little less than 500k to be counted. Sinema really needs to win those 500k by about double/triple her current margin of the counted 975k. If we get 100,000 counted today and she didn't gain at least 5-8k then it's going to get real problematic, real fast. Pima and the rurals will likely cancel each other out, so it's basically down to where the Maricopa votes come from and if she can increase the margin there
