Good info. I have 2 and potentially another .5 bathrooms to remodel in the next couple years. I could definitely justify getting a tabletop saw like that based on the amount of time I would spend renting one for those projects.
I can assure you that those are the best solutions out there and there are a number of reasons. Amplifi is not the best UI out there, but they've made vast improvement and will get there. Not going to get all tech on the thread though. If you are curious why, PM me. I've installed almost all of them at this point and anything out there that is mesh is going to get the job done. Haven't seen any major issues with any of them.
I headline the pole dancing segment at the lodge holiday party so I am not worried about catching flack unless they find a replacement for me.
Putting up Xmas lights this weekend. Going all out this year. Bought a 50 lb, 60 inch wreath I’m going to decorate. I’ve got a blow up snowman, a blow up Santa on a helicopter, candy canes to light the front walkway, snowflake decorations for the windows and a bunch of red bows. RRR is handing out 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for decorations this year. You will be mine.
I’d be curious to hear the reason why this over google WiFi or whatever else. Is this what you recommend? Ubiquiti Unifi Ap-AC Long Range - Wireless Access Point - 802.11 B/A/G/n/AC (UAP-AC-LR-US)
Maybe. It’s a delicate balance because they can look tacky. Also have to worry about a consistent theme. If not done right and you just throw a bunch of random shit up it will look half assed.
Yeah, you don't need the long range in your house, just the AC-Lite, slightly cheaper. It's better because this is their business and they make enterprise equipment that's been scaled down for the consumer. It's also open source so once you really start getting different items in your house on the network, it's agnostic, which is important as this space evolves. It also helps in terms of maintaining the current hardware/firmware possibilities. Ubiquiti is the space, the others are buying into it and in many cases paying for proprietary pieces. Obviously they have the $$ to do so but as it gets more competitive it's going to drive up pricing.
Can unifi and amolifi work together. Say I have cat5 ran in the living room and office but not in the bedroom could I use a wireless one and they all use same network
They cannot. If you had Amplifi you would just buy another point or whatever. Honestly don't know too much about these as they are plug and play but the software around it makes it inclusive to just the Amplifi "brand". If you had Unifi you would get one of these. Currently lights up my entire property, have two.....
After much thought and consideration, I have decided to take my tile talents to Rigid. #noquestions #respectmydecision #36outside
Exactly. Part of the reason I posted it. Bunch of poors can’t afford a tile saw or a superior patio fire machine!
I want one, but the wife thinks it's ugly . In typical fashion, I may buy one anyway, are they easy to clean?
I missed the discussion on them, are they mostly useful for camping or do they make cooking certain things easier?
a.tramp ive run your Texas tags and will have fresh Tuscany delivered before kickoff today. Spoiler jk we already fb friends
We were planning on doing it However the whole kitchen remodel has had so many delays and been so stressful thus far. A guy that just did some awesome plumbing and lighting work for us relatively cheap said he could do our tile for us. Have seen his work too. Just want to find out if his estimate is fair.
Wife loves fires. #shesetsfirestofeeljoy. Cook s’mores, provide heat, set a grate over it and cook. The answer is yes. Even comes with a carrying bag so it is easy to transport.
If I was not drinking beer and posting on the internets, imagine this whole job would take about 4-6 hours. 3-4 hours to tile and 1-2 hours to grout. Depending on how you value your skilled labor, I imagine anywhere from $300-$700 should cover labor costs.
Also, wife wanted a fire pit and said the same think after I showed here these. I said trust me. She now thinks it is the coolest thing we have ever purchased.
Yeah you just dump the ashes and blower, or sometimes I have the kids hit it with the shop vac. Once you have a fire your wife will like it. Mine would have not voted for the purchase initially and now she wants another one if we have more people over. I asked if she was planning a rave.
Pretty much yeah. Chimeneas are great for about a 45 degree quadrant in front of the opening. This thing rocks all the way around. I say this as a proud chimenea owner as well.
Guess it would depend on your setup. This says it’s safe even on a deck but no way in hell I would do that. Have light colored natural stone patio and it’s fine on that.
Looks like we’re moving forward with building a house. I’ll share the story later but it’s been a fun past month that has worked out in our favor. It looks like I might have a few thousand left over in design center money I need to spend. What’s everyone’s thoughts on getting surround sound put in? Not sure if I want to get that put in or add something later. Also, what’s the thoughts of getting an outlet put up in the roofline area for Christmas lights?
Re: mesh systems What do you do if you have wired devices? I have 3 cameras that are cat5, and I'd prefer to keep my xbox wired. Do any of the mesh systems allow for that?
I would wire for surround sound, and then wire bedrooms and master bath and back yard for sound to a central location you can manage. I would also wire for networking in bedrooms to the same central location. Lastly I would definitely put outlets in the soffits for xmas lights, it could help resale value down the road.
Backsplash done over the weekend, water hooked back up this morning, appliances in Tues-Wed, island facing on Saturday. Holy crap, I can see the finish line!
Wife wanted a fire pit soooooo Measured it off Scraped off grass and dug footer Poured footer Mortared in block using fire rock mortar This week will be digging a trench for a concrete boarder leveling and bringing in gravel. Will post pic when done.
