It really wasn’t terrible. Now had the ground been real hard it would have sucked. If you didn’t want the gravel area like me that cuts a good bit of work off. Also a round pit is harder to make/design than a square one.

What’s the best push shovel for snow removal?

I only have a one car driveway and no sidewalks so I shouldn’t need a blower. I have one of those big ergonomic scoops for the heavy stuff, but need a good push shovel for the lighter snows.

We’ve had a Samsung washer and dryer for a few years now and been happy with them until last week. Dryer is spinning but not heating worth a shit. Cleaned out dryer vent but there wasn’t much in there to begin with.

Did some googling for troubleshooting ideas and they all involve way too much electrical and circuit work for my skill set. Anyone w/ a Samsung have similar issues? Seeming like I’ll need to call a pro in, not sure what I’m looking at $-wise to fix it.

I just use a broom for lighter snow. For medium snow this is the best around.

For heavy snow its a custom made sheetmetal scoop shovel

Probably be at least $200 to get someone out to the house and then whatever part you need.

Also wasn’t on purpose but one of the best friends I ever made in life was my buddy who is an appliance repairman. He’s literally saved me thousands over the years. Highly recommend getting your own appliance friend.

Sounds like the heating element is out. I don't think those are hard to replace, but I don't have a samsung. Is it heating at all?

I installed a cheap wifi honeywell one and it was a bit difficult mainly cause the interface for changing settings was horrid. Their support was super helpful though. I imagine the ecobees/nests are much more intuitive. I'll be kopping this deal before the sale is up so guess I'll find out.

Especially when your stupid fucking builder hides the c wire behind the drywall so you bust open your furnace to install the power amplifier or whatever it is only to then discover the c wire and have to uninstall the power thing. What would have taken me 5 minutes turned into a half hour.

I installed a Honeywell as well, no issue, had the C wire. Wife programmed the unit so I can't speak to that.

it is heating a little bit, but something that should take 30 minutes ends up taking 3 cycles at 30 minutes.

Our dryer is in the basement, I looked up the vent and it was totally clear. Good point, I'll need to check the vent exit point. Been snowing and crappy out the last couple days in KC.

And here it is, the thing that is going to make me snap and lose control.

Appliances are here, ordered a 36”w x12”t x 25”d 600 cfm vent hood and they show up with a 18”t 1200 cfm 2 motor dual vent hood. Said I can have it for same price and not sure one I ordered is available.

Will require me to re-vent and pull out cabinets. Not sure I can get that done in a week.

I imagine there's a women's message board out there where they talk about their husband's diy projects and how they wait for the inevitable "FUCK!" when something doesn't go as planned. This is me no matter how small the project but everything ends up working out. At least I tell myself it does.

Company that is doing the appliances is awesome. Coming back on Thursday to install a vent hood to get me through Thanksgiving until the correct hood arrives. No additional charge. I did not even have to get angry, they just called and offered this up as a solution.

Get something like this with a metal blade. They are highly efficient for anything under 6 inches.

Moved in August of 2017 and made it a whole year without needing a snow shovel. Probably shouldn’t put it to chance again this year but probably will because I’m lazy.

So my garage door will open whenever the power goes out or is about to go out. When I go to put ti back up, I have to unplug it and plug it back in for it to go back down. Any suggestions on what that might be? I know I need to call an electrician unless it's as simple as replacing the outlet. I can do that.

Yea this doesn’t sound like a wiring issue. Sounds like a feature/bug of the door opener.

We have one switch that has a dimmer on it that turns on after a power outage. Any chance you have a dimmer switch in series with you garage door?

When my A/C kicks on, our whole house does a mini flash where all the lights dim a lot. Doesn't sound normal, and it's done it for 2+ years. I just never really thought about it. Should I have an electrician check it out?

Start with google. Manufacturer and then you should ultimately stumble upon a reason. Not sure how old yours is but in my experience the older openers are pretty dumb. Not really sure what can be done if it's an internal issue on the unit but at least you'll know if you need to replace it.

I think its fairly common and as long as there is no buzz noise coming from the breaker panel, its probably fine

Is your AC on an isolated breaker or is it sharing? Is your panel clean, like does it look neat or like some Estonian immigrant wired it?

If all that looks good, that still doesn't mean it's not something at the panel but I would venture to say something on the AC unit is drawing more power to compensate for something that could be a larger issue. Hard to tell, lots of points of failure. Threads been fun this morning, have to work now.

It raises right before the power goes out?
    How does it know?
How often does your power go out? And when you say "goes out", you mean the whole neighborhood or your homes main breaker?

Well the past month or so, our power has been going out pretty regularly (whole neighborhood), about 4 or 5 times if I had to guess. Looks like I need to check some wiring to the sensors and wiring to the actually button on the wall itself. I have a feeling it might be the button, b/c its pretty damn old. Funny thing is, the opener on my wife's side of the garage is OLD AF and no issues.
