that sucks. Does your CC that you bought it from have a policy to extend the warranty by one year? a lot of the good CCs include that.
I don't mind the notch on the pixel 3xl. It makes for a bigger viewing screen as the icons are at the very top of the phone to either side of the notch.
Just went ahead and grabbed a Pixel 3 XL in Just Black and Pixel Pods or whatever the fuck they are called from Google. Patient Bear for shipping. Probably should have done some research on those first, seems like they suck. Was hoping they would be comparable to my Apple airpods.
Was gonna let my GF who is taking my X use them. I'll probably just utilize both at some point. It was just an impulse purchase honestly.
Pixel buds are fantastic. There's a list of gestures you can use to control them. If you use the tasker app you can program more gestures for them.
Getting the 3 XL From Target tommorow. You get a $150 gift card when activating on Verizon. Bummer is that they don't carry the Pixel Stand which I want. Best Buy does, but they only offer a $100 gift card
Actually doing the size comparison, it's really not that much bigger than the S8 I currently use. Phonearena.com has a tool where you can view the phones side by side or over top of each other to get an idea, can even calibrate it to the size of your current phone so you'd have the real life size of the phones to compare. https://www.phonearena.com/phones/s...alaxy-S8,Google-Pixel-3-XL/phones/10311,10926
Battery too right? Who makes the 3 and 3XL? Since I'm sitting the release out I haven't really kept up with it.
Yeah, battery is smaller in the Pixel 3 but they are basically proportional from what I've read. Both are made in house by Google; no longer using HTC. They actually hired all of the staff from HTC who they used to contract with.
just trying to debate which one to get. i desperately need a new phone. my nexus 6p battery died about an hour ago even though it was fully charged after lunch and its essentially sat unused on my desk the last 4 hours. 3 xl is about the same size as the 6p, so it's not *too* big, but I liked how the 3 felt/being able to really control it with one hand. also, what size are you all getting? i was thinking i would need the 128 since i keep music on my phone, but I checked and my 6p was 64 and I still had about 15 or so available. i really don't like buying new phones, hence still having the nexus 6p and struggling to pull the trigger here, but i need to get one like yesterday.
main difference in the P2XL and the P3XL is the updated camera. Maybe 1 of 5 features of the P3XL will be available (via Google) for the P2XL. Fi and less likely Google Store will have good return policies if you want to try. Feel free to head to Best buy to hold the P3/P3XL in your hand.
May switch back to Fi. Didn't know about their Bill Protection thing after 6GB. It's essentially the same as I'm paying with Verizon, but with better coverage at my parents and at ECU games.
I have switched so many people over. Both of my parents, girlfriend, her parents, my boss, a few coworkers. Everyone loves Fi especially with the bill protection
Posting from my pixel 3 XL. Damn this is one of the nicest Android phones I've even used. Which I'd expect it to be.
basically gives you unlimited data and you're data costs cap out at 6GB. so, for a single line it'll be $80+taxes if you go over 6GB. after 15GB, speeds may slow. it will be less than $80 if you don't go over 6GB.
Just looked it up on the Fi website. I get like 8GB a month + unlimited minutes and texts along with rollover data for $40 on AT&T prepaid. I'd have to use no more 2GB to come out even by switching to Fi. Very hard pass for me.
Is Amazon Fire considered an Android since it has it's own OS? I honestly don't know. Anyway, I got a fire like a year ago, and just tried to start using it for the first time today. The OS was updated on 10/10, so I think I'm good there, but I'm having a hell of a time trying to get a specific game. When I search Apps or Games for (not in quotes) "This war of mine" nothing is found. I then went to google, and found it through googling it. Link: Anyway, from there I have 2 options: 1. Download it from the Amazon App, which I'm pretty sure I used previously but it yielded no results, or 2. Buy it now from the web. When I clicked option 1, the game page comes up in the app (that I first searched on), but where I'd usually press to download, it's grayed out and says "Currently Unavailable". When I clicked option 2, it says "Non-compatible device. If you continue with this purchase, you may be purchasing an app that doesn't work with your device." Am I doing something wrong, or was the game once on Fire, but is now unavailable for some reason?
Got the option to get a school phone today. We're an Android campus. The only thing they had available with the contract with Verizon was a fucking S8. Normally I would have told them "lol gtfo here" but they won't have any new phone offerings until the start of the new quarter and I'm out this bitch at the end of December so I just said fuck it and took the stupid thing.
Is this a Chrome update or did I fuck something up? I used to have to swipe down at the top of my screen on my s9 to get the option to switch tabs or get a home button. Now when I scroll up I get this at the bottom of my screen. It's annoying bc it takes up room when I'm scrolling.
I've heard amazing things. You don't really appreciate it as much as you should unless you post side by side with no night sight pics.
Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL gonna be $649 and $699 respectively from Nov 22nd through the 24. May have to get the 3.
Also on November 26, all Pixel 3 purchases at the Google Store will include a free Google Home Hub and a $50 credit to the Google Store
What I read said $150 off of the 3 and $200 off of the XL, along with those numbers. I didn't know what the phones actually are. And, I don't care about the XL.
Anyone done the phone trade-in thing with the new Pixels? I know in previous years I have heard there was a lot of problems with it.
I did. Was a lot faster this time around. I didn't have any issues last time but it did take about a month to get the refund.
Was the estimate at checkout the same as the refund you actually received? Saying my S8 is estimated at $175. I can get a little more than that by selling it on Swappa but figure this would be less work.
I traded in my pixel 1 for a 2 and got full quote without any of the issues people were complaining about. I just got a notification that they received the 2, will see how it goes.
I asked for a trade-in kit but never got it. Now I'm just debating if I should hold on to the XL 2 just in case or turn it in.
Wish I was able to get these great Pixel 3 prices or home hubs lol Oh well. Still loving this phone. Nice to be back to Pure Android from iOS and knowing it will work as I want it to. Fuck you Samsung.
I prefer a keyboard but if I got slate I'd get the keyboard and the pen so that part is a wash and the price is about the same. Being able to take the Slate as just a tablet would be nice. Just didnt know if the guys of the Pixelbook was much superior.
