Withdrew my money from Draftkings in April and put it in an offshore book . Started betting props which has been ten times more profitable....daily ftnasy was just too much of a grind for me. These prop markets can be beaten
I did the same thing. Once the established norm became playing multiple lineups in the same contest and everyone talking about their "exposure" to certain guys, I gave up. I don't want to craft 12 lineups that are basically the same with a few different guys, I want to put together one lineup I think can do well. That's not a winning strategy in DFS. +4U offshore so far though
Seems like this thread died but came to post about the weekend. Had one of my best weekends ever in DFS. Missed winning the $250,000 by the wrong RB and TE. I went heavy with the same people throughout most lineups but just didn’t pair correctly with those 2. It’s a cool feeling knowing you guessed correctly on the guys and cashed with every lineup.
Jacksonville and Buffalo setting the game back 70 years screwed me. Cashed in, but it was a negligible amount.
I’ve been playing a couple nights a week. Had a big day a few weeks ago where I cashed in 4 $50 50/50’s and won $150 in a tourney with that lineup. Other than that it’s been a roller coaster of small ups and downs. I really haven’t gotten a feel for nba yet this year. Last year I knew I had about 5 low priced guys that could get me 20-30. Still trying to find those guys.
I heard about Fanball.com recently. They have what they call the Fanball Number, basically a skill level assigned to each user. Contests are limited to certain skill levels so you're not getting whooped by sharks all the time. Cool concept IMO
I play NBA typically MWF. Spend about $15-$20 a night. I'll do one $5 10 person contest, one $5 triple up, one $5 double up, a $3 with around 1000 people and then a few $1 and $.25 contests. I'll break even or be up 25-50% most nights. My goal is to get into the money line on the triple up which will basically cover my entry fees. I think I'm up $250ish over the course of the NBA season so enough to keep me going but not so much that its a substantial amount of money.
Not a cash player but seems like an easy slate to pay up for pitching. Sale/Severino/Verlander, with cheap platoons from Minny, CWS and Philly. In tournaments using Nola a lot, and dropping down to Garrett Richards to afford some big stacks (NYY and Houston)
I don't have time to play seriously anymore but I'm loving the DRAFT app on my phone to play casually. Their games are snake draft and typically only 2,3, or 6 player contests.
Had a 205 and broke even in cash. Disgusting. Any interest in a winner take all TMB league every week?
Scored around 216 and cashed all my single entry double ups. Always wondered what are the most optimal cash games to play. Spreading around head to heads seems smart but I worry about going head to head with a bunch of pros
Pros play double ups too. Also keep in mind that in DU’s the rake is paid by the losers so fewer places are paid, you actually need a score a bit higher than a 50/50 bubble score - and 50/50 bubble scores are usually profitable H2H scores. A good score tends to hold steady across buy-ins in H2H’s. I beat Al Smizzle, Adam Levitan, Peter Jennings, JMtoWin, and a bunch of “pros” in my H2H’s this week, it’s the early season recreational players that stacked, took some -ev chances (imo), and had more tourney style LU’s that killed me.
DraftKings has experienced based tiers where someone who has played or won x amount can’t play newbies, but aside from that pros can play whatever I believe. Manybdont play under $5-10, some do. I think you’re concerned for nothing though. Keep in mind NFL is so popular it has the smallest edge as recreational DFSers are more knowledgeable and there’s so much redundant information on it. I wouldn’t sweat seeing a pro in my H2H like I would in basketball or baseball.
Anyone else interested in the TMB DraftKings league post (or PM me) your DK username and I’ll add you to the league. $20, full Sunday slate, winner take all.
If you decide to pivot to a top 3 get paid or something similar (no idea about the pool size), I'd be in but i'm out for winner takes all. rcragg82 is the name.
I'm starting to pick it back up. Been MME'ing with the Rotogrinders optimizer, no big hits but seem to be in the 1.5x range consistently. Hopefully that means a nice one is around the corner ...
We have a groupme with a couple of other tmbers if you guys want in on it. We share lineups and what not.
It branches off from a fantasy league we’re all in together. Not many of us spend that much time on the board and as you know they nba lineups/news is constantly changing. Just easier to check the phone on the groupme app where we pretty much post all day. Redundant and time consuming to post in two different spots.
