Are the prices good? I can't view them, I'd have to get my brother to join so I could order.

There used to be a guy on the internet that worked for Aimpoint that would give wholesale price to LE/MIL on all Aimpoint products. I want to say he was on Lightfighter.

Went with the standard mount, seems like everything I have has the quick release yet I don't find myself swapping out optics on guns much.

I’m reading that Brian Kemp is going to push for “constitutional carry” legislation in Georgia. I’m not knowledgeable on the subject, but at first glance that doesn’t seem like a good idea.

    I loathe open carry.

    Permitless concealed? Sure.

Permitless concealed seems, uh, ill advised. At least based on the attendees at my cc class.

They still got that permit though. I’d prefer everyone needed a CWP but I see the argument against it.

Open carry just makes it hard to tell if someone is about to do something evil.

I think that’s more a function of cc classes being private for profit enterprises here than anything. Nobody has an incentive to fail a person (the teacher literally said he had never failed a person). But there was a batshit crazy guy who probably shouldn’t have a permit.

I think there should at least be reasonable universal reciprocity for permits. Having to worry about which state does or doesn't recognize your permit is slightly retarded. If you want to get rid of permits all together though then be my guest.

Granted, my cc permit was obtained for $13 and about a half hour of my time, but I'm not crazy about making it easier to carry. :twocents:

That's the problem with universal reciprocity. Should it be that easy or like Illinois where it's 8 hours of classroom time and 8 hours of range time and $300 (if you haven't lived there for 10 years)

Yeah I think the states should adopt a universal permit. I call anytime I'm travelling out of SC just to make sure because I'm scared some of these states are going to start changing pretty regularly and I don't want to screw up.

I completely agree that universal reciprocity would be great, but there's really no way to do that without expanding federal control of firearms, which isn't likely to happen any time soon.

In Alabama, cc permits are controlled on the county level. Each sheriff is in charge of issuing them.

The other problem with national reciprocity is the lack of consistency in the permitting process state by state.

When I lived in Florida, it was a weekend class. Here in Fulton county, I had to drive down to the probate court and fog a mirror.

That's the primary problem. That's why I said that it wouldn't really be possible without expansion of federal regulation.

Think 8 hours total was pretty reasonable. 4 class and 4 range. Think I probably told this story in here before but I legitimately thought I was being punked at my cc class. As a little background the teacher wanted some back and forth from the attendees. It was fairly informal.

What he got was an old man, probably early 70s at the time who:

-Openly talked about his time in 'Nam as a door gunner killing Vietcong (and having life problems thereafter as a result)
-Talked about how his marriage fell apart and his wife married a guy who ended up sexually molesting his daughter (went on about this on two separate occasions)
-Admitted to shooting at attempted calf thieves and ultimately hitting their truck with several shots but not injuring any of them (was during the can't use lethal force to protect property portion).
-Several other crazy things that I probably don't recall specifically
-Had his gun still in its bag and had never used it at all. It was brand new and he didn't know how it worked. The instructor had to give him basic instructions on that particular firearm.

Mine had this, but it was an elderly female with a snub nose 38 that I remember being fairly certain she would eventually shoot herself with. After some training, she still could not manage to release the cylinder. The .22 revolver that was loaded with 22 short rounds nearly jumped out of her hands while we were shooting "at the range". a hall way INSIDE the gunshop we were taking the class in. She passed.

Oh yeah, I like it a lot more with the brace. When you break the gun down there's an engraving on the receiver of a GrassHopper Mouse (GHM9) eating a scorpion. It's said they designed this gun to compete with the CZ Scorpion. Not sure how much competing it will do considering it's 2x the price (3x when you add the brace). Nonetheless, I can see myself shooting this much more than I do my Rock River Pistol AR.

Is Fortis a respectable brand? I need to get a grip for a 1913 rail but the standard Magpul AFG-II is too long.

Also, any of you have an Olight? Appears to be overseas made but are they any good? I always think I need more flashlight this time of year.

I have fought my wife and sort of won the battle regarding getting my 9yo an air rifle. We’ll shoot it off the back deck together so he learns gun safety and basic marksmanship.

Any ideas what I should buy? I had a pellet gun when I was like 7 but I don’t know how that market has evolved.

Since nobody is on the internet at 3am to entertain me I'm bored and looking for something to do. I found a 50rd drum mag for the B&T, normally $250 but on sale for under $200. Never heard of the company so I google them and notice they are in my tiny podunk town and I drive by them every day.
