Snow on Monday then 60 degrees today...thank you Oklahoma for allowing me to get in 9. Didn't play terrible either which was unexpected, although it wasn't good by any means
Watch the video in the tweet I posted above. It was a fake quote, similar to the one from Rickie Fowler earlier on this page
A made up quote from Cameron champ saying no one wanted to watch Brian Gay drive it 282 yards anymore. Hilarious so of course there’s an absurd overreaction
Had to sub into a tournament yesterday... hadn't touched the clubs in a month or 2 and wasn't super excited about playing as a +2 in a match play event in cold and wet conditions. My 5 warm up balls were fat and left. Ended up almost shooting my best round of the year.
I played the ocean course in Kiawah this summer. Lots of famous people play this course (not to brag), and caddie had some hilarious stories. Best story is he caddied for Wayne Gretzky. I guess he felt comfortable enough with Wayne and at some point they began discussing DJ. caddie asked: “is DJ as dumb as he looks?” Wayne: “let me put it this way. when we go to dinner, I don’t let them calculate the tip.”
my buddy invites me to a charity tournament he sponsors each year. I bought $200 worth of raffle tickets for an auction. I ended up winning a big yeti cooler. my buddy was legit mad I didn’t give him the cooler. this was after I carried our asses to a gross win in the shamble and we won $500 gift cards to Nordstrom (seriously). wtf?
He sounds like a dickhead. Regardless of who played well for the team, you paid for the raffle tickets for yourself
So what is the best way to buy the Tiger match? Is there an app that will show it? Also booked a time to make my pilgrimage to Sweetens next Monday and the weather looks terrible.
I was looking into this last night. Its OnDemand for $19.99 on my cable (Comcast). Haven't seen anything about streaming but I imagine there will be both legal and (allegedly) illegal options.
Talking to Sportfan last night and he mentioned I should reach out to the group from recommendations. Planning a 4 day golf trip out to Phoenix in March. Never been and unfamiliar with the area. After talking it over with the group, we have "narrowed" in on these courses: Troon North Sunridge Canyon Golf Club Arizona Grand Golf Club We Ko Pa Golf Club Verde River Golf Verrado golf Club Legend Trail Gold Canyon Golf Club Estrella Mountain Golf Club Dove Valley Golf Club Orange Tree Golf Resort Desert Canyon Golf Club TPC Champions Course TPC Stadium Course Grayhawk Are there any that we are missing that should be on this list? Any other food/golf/activity recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks
On that list I’ve played troon both the TPCs gray hawk and we ko pa. I personally wasn’t that big of a fan of We ko pa. Conditions and service were awesome out there, I’m just not a big fan of the golf course others will probably disagree. However, you can’t go wrong by playing it.
I went out to Scottsdale twice last year for golf trips and you cant really go wrong. Went once in late January and once the first of September when MSU was playing out there. I will say if money is no cost go play the mainstays, but they will probably be super expensive in March. TPC was like $350 in January when I was out there and played it for like $100 in September. Verrado Mountain course or whatever had just opened when I was out there in January. If you dont mind the drive you cant beat the cost. It was still growing in some, but the a great track for sure. I'd play Troon North and Grayhawk first on your list
Why no Quintero? That was by far my favorite course of the 4 I played when I was out there last winter. On your list the two we played were Estrella and Sunridge Canyon. I'd give the nod to Estrella. Sunridge was tougher though imo. Both were fun although Estrella was in noticeably better shape which is why I would say it's a bit better experience overall.
My brother is wanting to get into golf so we’re buying him a set for Christmas. He just called me to say he’s going to look to guy something on a Black Friday special. Had to talk him out of buying anything
Going to club champion in Atlanta between Christmas and New Years. Saw they are 50% off on full bag fitting.
Looking to get fitted after the new year. Deciding between a local shop and club champion. Would love to hear a report on the experience.
Currently in Europe so I opened the BR Live app to see about buying the stream late tomorrow night and it says it’s only available in the US and Canada. I assume there has to be another option for the Euro market but if not that is a terrible oversight on the part of the organizers
I caddied there for years. Yes celebrities play there, but we make up most of the stories to give the players a better experience. Did they tell you Jordan lived in that big weird gray house on the back nine?
Can this be purchased yet? Downloaded the app on roku and getting a message that says it can't be purchased yet
This is dumb. I was hoping for no announcers. These guys won't shut up. I was hoping for a silent, voyeur type experience. Wanted to hear caddie interactions warming up, etc.
