Would've never guessed they both would've stood there for that long, much less Bananas coming up short.
To stand there over 5 hours with arms overhead is insane. I can’t believe they both did it for that long.
I think it's obvious the producers had no idea that it would take that long either....pretty much made the eating portion pointless. There was no rush
Spoilers site said earlier this year that there was another elimination a couple days before the one they showed on TV where Bananas and Tony were beating Paulie and Natalie. Production stopped that comp in the middle, then days later ran the comp we saw tonight on TV. Bananas also kinda confirmed it on Twitter tonight.
Hell the last challenge Natalie was in was bordering on this with Kyle spinning her in that cage. That’s part of the risk to doing these make/female or male vs female eliminations. Wish they’d do away with them honestly. It’s really difficult to make them completely fair on both sides.
Tony posted something on twitter that the boulder “run” for the last challenge was half the teams’ combined weight. So Tony and Bananas certainly pushed a heavier boulder than Joss/Sylvia.
Watched the episode tonight and you can see a totally different setup in the background during the team selection, then suddenly it changes to what they actually did. Pretty weak imo
Stupid season remains stupid. Not even worth watching the remaining episodes. Thankfully next season sounds like it should be good.
https://betches.com/marie-rodas-challenge-final-reckoning-recap-haters-will-say-cara-carried-me/ Good recap from Marie about how they got Bananas/Tony vs Paulie/Nat in the elimination but production decided to air the Cara/Paulie trash instead. Also says the reason they had to redo the elimination was bc it broke.
Who said Cara was carrying Marie? If anybody was getting carried this season it was Cara herself. That’s one of the underrated storylines this season. Marie blooming into a good player. The best thing Cara done this year was encourage her otherwise she’s had her head up Kyle’s ass all season and never recovered.
Yea Cara seemed like a wreck this season. Way too emotional and didn’t perform very well in the challenges.
That was a weak final challenge. Sylvia is the goddamn worst with all her crying and entitlement. Seeing Hunter and Sylvia crying at the end was really satisfying. Cara was right that Ashley was going to take the money no matter what.
Joss and Sylvia were fucking idiots. Completely agree that Ashley was always taking the money. Hunter's meltdown was enjoyable.
Lol at Joss crying that someone went back on their word for 1 million dollars. Ashley is just the epitome of shallow. She was never sharing that money. Hate that she's using "Im the victim" to try and justify her being a shitty person and taking the money.
Feel bad that Marie reverted back to the trash competitor she's always been and Cara and Marie went right back to beefing with each seconds into the final. There relationship evolved the most from the beginning to the end but I guess all that was just proximity/enemy of my enemy is my friend and deep down they really do hate each other regardless. Joss and Sylvia don't deserve any pity, their idiots. If they place second or win that standing crap then the grenade doesn't matter they still win no matter what. They got nobody to blame but themselves. Personally maybe it says something about me. I can't be mad at Ashley for making that move. I wouldn't had to justify it. I would have just said I can feed my family on 500k but I can feed them longer with 1 million so it's nothing personal it's just business. I can understand Hunter freakin out, and he did say some wild crap to Ashley. Whatever reason Ashley gave, she was a trash person going into this and she's a trash person going out but she goes out a trash person that is also a millionaire and that's all that matters. Somebody gotta explain to me how she was the individual winner and came ahead of Hunter though. The final challenge was trash. The worst one they've done. The cave and the fallout of Ashley decision made it all worth it though. So I was entertained. Producers gotta do a better job in this next phase of the challenge. They really dropped the ball from the design of the challenges to the way the season was edited. P.S. I think Paulie would have screwed over Natalie if he won.
And fuck MTV for showing everything to try to back up Ashley and giving her a decent edit with that bullshit victim storyline. How did they decide which parts of the final to count towards the individual time? Looked like Hunter was right next to her on most everything and he beasted the eating challenge. Terrible final overall. Show is starting to lose my attention.
Ashley/Hunter openly hated each other for most of the challenge, not surprised she took the money. Really weak season overall and agreed it is starting to lose my attention. We need more 1on1 kill the other person challenges.
Had this thought driving into work today: 4 on 4 street fight Nelson, Corey, Hunter, and Joss vs. Bananas, Kyle, Brad, Tony. Who do you got? I personally think that TYB would win, but I also think despite being big dudes Bananas and Kyle are pretty big pussies.
I actually liked a lot of the eliminations this season, but will agree that some were hurt by the girl/guy vs. guy/guy concept. I don't know...show hasn't lost my attention at all...but maybe because I'm in it for the drama (Corey getting the boot, Paulie making people lose their minds, girls being whores, etc) as much as the eliminations. I'm much more likely to remember Devin stalking Bananas around the house than I am to remember what specific event got someone eliminated.
what about a 10 mile obstacle course? camera keeps up with them the whole time. Maybe 4 guys vs 4 girls.
TYB in a rout. Brad is the only one on the other side that would be able to get into crazy fight mode, and even he was destroyed by Darrell in Cutthroat (though Darrell would work almost any challenger). Only way the Bananas crew has a chance is if CT is subbed in for one of the non-Brad types.
As for this season, it was five episodes too long and the redemption format was sloppy as fuck — it was stupid that some teams (Paulie and Natalie) got multiple attempts to get back in while many of the others were eliminated without getting one chance to get out. Also didn’t like the final at all — need some puzzles to make everyone look like dumbasses.
I think Rivals 2 (after the eliminated the third-place team) had a great elimination format. It wasn’t one of those ridiculous 2-3 day finals or whatever weak shit this season’s final was. It was one long, hard day of running, doing puzzles, lifting shit and eating nasty food. Not psychotic enough to where you were legitimately worried about the contestants’ safety but not a walkover either.
I like the drama and everything but the whole bullying and “no one likes you” shit is so stupid and i’m over it. I can’t stand TYB and Lavender Ladies and I think a lot of the viewers feel the same way. I don’t want to give shitty people like them more TV time and attention
Feel like mtv gave her the win because they knew she would keep the money. I don’t understand how hunter wasn’t the overall winner.
Agreed. Kyle is at the bottom of that tier and Johnny probably right in front of him. the only thing I can think is she finished ahead of him in a few of the runs by a couple minutes, and they didn’t account for much in the eating challenge. But yea, it seemed odd that she won, especially without breaking down how. At least MTV learned to stop saving the winner for the damn reuinion
Bc they arbitrarily counted individual challenges IMO. He should've smoked Ashley with that eating challenge and seemed like he was close to her during the runs.
Agree the season was too long and the format was awful allowing terrible teams to be competitive and repeatedly get extra chances. But all that drama at the end and not dragging it out to the reunion, did save the season some what. Agree that Paulie would have the kept the money, he's such a try hard, Bananas wannabe. He's easily a top 5 most obnoxious player in Challenge history Looks like a lot of people also hate TYB/LL and MTV knows it because they really aren't in the cast next season.
Also Hunter and Nelson can probably fight but Corey doesn't have a shred of coordination or athletic ability, it's all show muscles. And we just watched Joss cry because his feelings were hurt. I think the fight would be a lot closer than you guys saying
