I can completly relate with that. At least the first couple paragraphs. We never got super big but it was the same feeling. I'm gonna play again though. Damnit.
Wait I thought the album was about some dude who gets lost in space and then comes back with some kind of super power
1914 - The Blind Leading The Blind WWI-themed blackened death/doom from the Ukraine. seal of approval, it's sick.
i just finished the first 6 songs on this album, and yes it's dope i wish more bands would do this sort of concept album. for as much as i love space stuff, something like this that's honest and heavy as fuck about actual war might change some people's minds? idk it nothing else, it goes hard and i like it
Goddammit, I was probably listening to tech death before you were born. Also, Equipoise is a grossly overrated steroid.
I was born in 90. I thought you didnt like tech death. I dont have a third point but posting one seemed necessary.
Ok, so you were in diapers. I love tech death, I just feel the stuff in the 90's and early 00's had more focus on well crafted songs. Seems like a lot of bands today and trying to out tech each other, either that or there's so fucking many bands that half of them are garbage. Reminds me of Yngwie Malmsteen in the 80's, he was so focused on trying to out shred everyone else he never could write a decent song.
Paul Gilbert is a stud and Street Lethal is a song done right. Still cracks me up Angel Dust tried to deny stealing that riff or ever hearing it.
I know some of you like old school (swede flavored) death metal. And it's not just swede flavored, there's some Asphyx and other influences.
Idk if this counts but got on some crack the skye mastodon via YouTube. Led me to glassjaw Siberian kiss.
HEY CREEPS . JUST REMEMBER THE KARMA BUG IS AFTER YOU . YOU CAN RUN , HIDE , CRY . BUT IN THE END THE KARMA YOU CREAT COMES BACK AT YOU SO ? YOU GOT A ROUGH ROAD AHEAD. TRY NOT TO CRY TO MUCH .
New Chapel Of Disease came out today. For those not familiar they're a DM band from Germany. First two albums were on FDA Rekotz (now FDA Records) which has about an 85% awesome accuracy for everything they release. This new one is on Ván Records. It's better than whatever you are listening to right now.
My buddy uses something called Spotified. When he comes over he likes to plug his phone into my stereo and play name that tune. This last time he was over we did 90's swedish death metal. He was laid to waste, bad.
Yeah, that's it. It's got a bunch of playlists that you can pick from, we pick a decade or genre and go head to head. I told him he didn't stand a chance in swedish death and I was right. He got one song before me and it was only because I blurted my answer out after 1.5 seconds into the track.
Spotify isn’t great but it’s worth $9.99 a month to me. They have a decent selection of stuff. I’m no grandpa but I suck at computers and don’t know how to get all the fancy cool programs.
I'm too much of a control freak to be trusting any of those sites to have quality rips/bit rates of stuff. Plus they always seem to lack the less than popular releases. Speaking of less than popular, looks like they re-issued Mortal Slaughter. Originally only released on cassette in 1993 (I personally think it wasn't issued until '94 but whatever), it's a good release and no doubt in my mind it would have been much more popular had it been issued in more formats with better distribution. Better late than never I guess.
Spotify shouldn’t be anyone’s sole source. I use Spotify, I use bandcamp, I listen to YouTube shit posted here and then save them on Spotify if available. Stuff I legit like I purchase in one form or another, usually physical. Spotify related artists help point me towards new stuff.
I think spotify's premium version lets you listen to 320k, but I like having digital copies of my own.
Your generations reliance on cell phones is why new ones cost 1.2 million dollars. Actually I don't know why new phones cost so much. I do know that my phone is so old my banking app won't work, it literally has a pop up message saying my phone isn't supported. Fuck you Verizon. It's like a first or second gen Galaxy.
You can get a Motorola one that will run pretty much anything for like $200 They're so expensive because you're getting a fast computer with a touch screen and a really nice camera that can fit in your pocket
It's not the money, I just hate those cunts. I'm positive those dicks ruined my favorite phone on purpose because it was older. Works just fine one day, they do an "update" and magically my phone won't stop rebooting itself at random times throughout the day. They sabotaged that shit and I know it.
Probably more that the hardware couldn't run the latest version of the operating system, which all of the apps you use rely upon and app makers arent going to support 5 year old versions of their apps
