Ate at Senor Bear, Mercentile and Bar Dough. We went to Uncle Ramen on Monday, but it had a two hour wait, so we headed over to Bar Dough.

All were good, but Senor Bear was my favorite.

Ate breakfast at Snooze and Denver Biscuit Company. DBC of you only have one day, Snooze was solid, but wait was long and it was just a solid breakfast spot nothing special.

Flying in for an interview next week.

Job would be out in Centennial, which is a little bit of a bummer.

There any interesting areas to live around there for a late 20s single guy? I'm not big on commuting, so I think Golden Triangle, LoHi, etc. are out of the picture.

We figured Monday would be slow. We were going to go to Hop Alley, but wife didn’t want Chinese and their is a strong ramen spot near us in Charlotte.

Bar Dough was on the list as well so it worked out, but was shocked when we got their at 6:30 on a Monday and they were like 100-130 minutes.

What part of Centennial? It's a fairly large place geographically. I lived in Lone Tree for a year and it was pretty cookie cutter as well as a pain in the ass going back and forth from the city on the weekends, so I definitely wouldn't recommend that. I think your best bet might be an apartment complex near I25 and Hampden that is known for being Denver's only apartment complex with a lazy river. You'll get a late 20s single crowd there, not have a terrible commute and there is a light rail station nearby.

$1800 would be the hard max, $1500 is what I'm hoping.

Not to make you guys my realtor, but ideally I'm looking for a view of the mountains.

Probably anywhere in the DTC. Belleview Station is a new development that is close to about the only cool stuff in Centennial.

You could consider Englewood area for more of a true feel of Denver than cookie cutter bullshit around DTC. The South Broadway strip that runs through Englewood continues to evolve and become a cool area. And there are a decent amount of newer apartment options. Probably wouldn't be a terrible commute and could not have to rely completely on I-25 all the time.

I used to live in Baker (further north up Broadway), but that entire strip has a lot going on now with constant development. Platt Park/University/Wash Park are all short distances from Englewood too. Plus you'd have 285 access in that area to get you to the mountains faster

    do you have precheck?

just over an hour should do. I usually go 2 hours before because of my g/f but that's unnecessary

check the DIA website. they list security times.

DIA does the best job with security of any major airport in the country that I've been to.

You won't need long at the airport but traffic out there on a Friday afternoon will probably be awful

I've been offered the job here. And I've resigned myself to purchasing one of those electric scooters for my commute to the light rail and from the light rail to the office.

I figure that even though I hate commuting, if I'm taking rail at least I can still be on my phone and stuff, so not a complete and total time suck. And I really didn't care for the suburbaness of the Lone Tree area, so that rules out the office. Denver Tech Center also seemed pretty bland from what I've seen, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

I think the three main areas I'm going to look at are around University, Alameda, and Union Stations. The company also came in at more money than I thought they would, so I'm a bit more flexible in that regard.

Correct in your assessments. One place I can vouch for is IMT Alameda Station as far as apartments go. That was my first place when I moved to Denver and I loved the staff, had covered garage parking included in rent, and was a block from the light rail station. Also good/easy access to I-25 and 6 West to get into the mountains. Great views of the mountains if you happen to get a unit that faces west.

If James Cloutier is still working there in the leasing office, he's an awesome dude. He was super helpful and always responsive. They had great pricing for 2 BR/2BA at the time I moved there (that was May 2015). Think it was like $1950/month. Probably up over $2k now though for the same space as rent has gone up everywhere.

My girlfriend just fell off one of those scooters down by the aquarium on the way to work last week. Broke her wrist, tore her rotator cuff and got a pretty big shiner. Took her to the ER and all the doctors and nurses said they see so many people who get injured on them that they'd never ride them. Think you might be better off getting a bike than a scooter. Marginally safer and more versatile.

Apparently they have a shuttle going from the station to the office, so I won't have to deal with that.

Accepted their offer, so I'm headed yalls way the end of December.

A friend of a friend of a friend has a condo over by Union Station, so it looks like I'm gonna start off staying there.

I'm about at the point of paralysis anyway with how many different combinations of location, view, balcony/none, bedrooms, and price there are.

the source is a little too sterile for my liking.

HOWEVER, living back there would be awesome. congrats on living near shake shack and like 5 of my favorite bars/breweries

pretty much if you live in the heart of RiNo or Cap Hill, you will be right in the action.

South Broadway and Highlands are desirable as well. I love day drinking around both.

I live in between LoHi and Jefferson Park. I enjoy the convenience of pretty much being 10 minutes from everything. And I think Zuni Brewing is the best brewery in the city and I happen to live 30 steps from it

Really? Zuni St is a good brewery in terms of being a good neighborhood hangout, but their beer is nothing special. I wouldn't even put it in the top 5 breweries in the North Side (Little Machine, Cerveceria Colorado, Diebolt, Call to Arms, Goldspot), let alone all of Denver.

I might be unique in not liking the craftier side of craft beers. I like drinkable, lighter craft beers (pilsners, lagers, some pale ales). Zuni has 2-3 beers I could drink 10 of in a day, which is saying a lot for craft beer.

Also, they had a hot dog eating contest of labor day and it was glorious
