The whole fucking country saw what a terrible cunt Stafford is. He’s Jay Cutler, without the hot wife.
Stafford has sucked this year. That doesn't change the fact that he's been really good in the recent past. Or that Michael David Smith is a giant cunt. Fuck that guy.
What has he done that’s been so great or “good”? I’ll hang up and listen. He’s a fucking cunt, that should be traded after the season. Who cares about the cap hit. We are going to suck next year anyways.
That’s what I thought. You can’t name anything. He’s a fucking loser that hasn’t won or accomplished anything. Just go back to Christmas Eve last year. Must win game, and he shits the bed.
There’s still too many fan boys out there that continue to suck his dick. It’s fucking pathetic, he’s worse than Jay Cutler.
I think stafford could do a lot more & lift those around him better, but I also don’t put the continued failure of this dogshit organization on him. In theory, sure, the lions could find a cheaper option and get similar results. But why would we expect them to suddenly make good decisions?
Stafford has been bad this year. There's no defending some of these performances. At the same time, the premise that what he did prior to this year doesn't matter because we didn't win a playoff game is stupid. We went 25-23 the last three years with a historically embarrassing run game and one of the worst defenses in the league. Put an average QB on those teams and there's no way we win 15 games during that stretch. Pretending like Stafford is the one who has been holding this organization back (outside of the second half of 2013 when he was horrible) is ridiculous. He's the only thing that kept this org afloat the last 3 years. But some would argue they would rather tank because that's the answer to everything.
He beat like 3 or 4 teams with a winning record during that stretch. So 85% of the wins were against teams with below .500 records. And save the running game excuse. He had a fucking running game this year, and 3 good WRs, and he’s shit on by the Jets, 49ers, Seahawks. Stafford is the definition of average. Stop acting like Joe Flacco or Alex Smith couldn’t win 25 games with the same squad.
And we wouldn't have lost to more teams with losing records with a worse QB? Alex Smith and Joe Flacco would not have won more games the last 3 years than Stafford, but if you have your way I hope you're right because that's our best case scenario for 2019 and 2020 if we dump Stafford after this year.
So what you’re saying is we won’t win any playoff games or division titles the next 2 season? We haven’t won any of those with Stafford in 10 years, or any scrub before him. Fine by me
Which brings it back to the pointlessness of the conversation. It's not about "what gives the Lions a better chance of winning moving forward?" It's about "I'm sick of this guy who hasn't taken us to a playoff win so I want literally anyone else and tell you it's better." You're not interested in looking at why it hasn't happened. You'd rather just burn it down every few years.
The difference between this year's Stafford and the last few years has been his inability to go on 4th quarter heaters to beat bad teams after his mediocre play in the 2nd and 3rd quarters put the Lions in a hole. Aside from brief stretches, he's always been an inconsistent QB who could get hot. Now he can't get hot and he's just inconsistent. He'll be 31 next year with 11 years under his belt. There is little reason to think his peak is still coming, that he'll ever be consistent, or that he'll get back to '15-'17 level production as he gets older. There certainly isn't a better option for next year or probably '20, but they need to plan to move past him after '20.
I really want to believe that they are one of the NFL teams that has already reached out to Kingsbury but know better than that
That’s actually a good point. We’d still suck ass. He’s just a fat slob that looks clueless on sidelines
Today was a good day for team tank. The next two weeks will tell the story of our year though, as we get the Cardinals and Bills on the road. Lose those games and we are probably sitting pretty for at least a top 6 pick.
Who do we look at in the 3-5 range if we dont blow it and win some games? One of the DE? Hope a team wants a QB and trade down? Think of taking one of the QB? Doubt we would go QB
I think so. Our pass rush sacks are misleading. We get a lot of effort sacks but we need a true difference maker on the DL to pair with Harrison. I really like Josh Allen from Kentucky. Top 10 might be a stretch for him but he can line up everywhere. You put him on a DL with Hand and Harrison and I think you have something. I wouldn’t hate a guy like Greedy Williams either, but this staff has made Slay regress, so I am not sure how I feel about them getting their hands on a top ten DB.
