only things i drink now water topo chico la croix coffee (with butter and mct oil in the morning) tea tequila or vodka with soda/topo
I dont mind low calorie drinks Powerade zero has no carbs and uses aspertame Same for diet soda Bai has a carb or two but uses erithrytol which is infinitely better than aspertame I make "sweet" tea with stevia I had been drinking zero calorie milos tea but realised it uses sucralose which is trash
You can order 3 or 4 large patties with cheese. Today I had 3 large patties, one piece of cheese for like $5 something
If you want something candy like thats easy to find pretty much all quest bars are good. 4-5 carbs, macros arent perfect, but theyre delicious and can easily be fit into a ketogenic diet. The birthday cake one is my favorite.
Been on Keto and IF for the past year and a half. I typically do a 16-8 IF, I usually still eat 3 meals in my 8 hour window. Avolcados, hard boiled eggs and walnuts are now my best friends. My only advice is to avoid trying all of the Keto work around breads, cakes, etc and keep it simple. Protein + Vegtables + olive oil = success.
Preach on the birthday cake. I switched to the chocolate chip ones for a break, but going right back to BC after I finish this box.
Most vegetables are fine. Potatoes, corn, etc arent. Most fruit isnt ok. Small amounts of berries can be done pretty easily.
I ordered a box of quest bars on y'all's recommendation. Was planning to get back on it today anyway but the thread has helped. I did this in the spring and loved the way I felt. I never gave up the diet drinks though. Need the caffeine and don't do coffee.
Transition period where you feel like shit because your body has to learn how to synthesize a completely new type of energy.
What flavor? Big fan of white chocolate raspberry because a) I like the flavor and b) my wife doesn’t so she won’t steal those when she is running late and hasn’t made breakfast
How long does it take to start feeling the symptoms, what are the symptoms, and how long do they typically hang around. I want to start this but want to time it around work for the "flu"
I, for one, never get keto flu. Im just a bit hungrier than usual until a few days pass and my body stops trying to burn glucose.
Yeah that one is pretty good. Cookies and cream, chocolate chip cookie dough, smores, and the white chocolate raspberry are my favorite. I haven't really come across any that I really disliked. I've been doing WW for the past 10 weeks and those are only 4-5 points depending on the flavor and I eat one of those with a premier protein shake before I work out at 5 am and they more than hold me over until lunch at noon.
The keto flu, aka carb withdrawal, generally kicks in at the 24- to 48-hour mark. Symptoms typically last from a few days to two weeks, and up to a month at most. https://blog.bulletproof.com/definitive-guide-to-conquering-keto-flu/
If you supplement electrolytes (sodium, potassium, magnesium) I would wager you won’t feel it. If you don’t, you’ll experience something similar to low level “dehydration” achey body and headache.
Wife brought this up this weekend. It sounds like Atkins to me. Am I wrong? TYdeFan05 How many carbs do BBQ rubs have? I assume the sugar in them isn't great but man I could eat BBQ chicken/turkey/beef all day every day.
Depends on the rub, but most of the grocery store ones are out. They like adding sugar. The home made ones are infinitely adjustable. Atkins and keto are cousins, but the keto crowd eats a higher percentage of fat. For those truly dedicated, carnivore is the next step. There’s a few Facebook groups with hundreds of thousands of members. It does require a level of dedication
Sure. You know that brain fog you sometimes get? Mine has been almost completely gone since doing keto. I feel sharper. It’s hard to explain.
Same here. It’s hard to explain until you get through it, but for me it’s like I’d been groggy/sleepy for years and didn’t notice it until it was gone. My brain started working like someone flushed the crud out of the gearbox.
I also do a ketochow shake with my dinner. Gets my numbers closer to where they need to be If I knew I wasn’t going to get even remotely close to my protein goal, I’d have an Ispoure lowcarb protein shake. 50g for 2 scoops.
Yea I figured that was the case. I just wasn't sure if a little rub would cause you to go over the 20g a day or now. Like this is my main go to and it says no carbs? Would it be legal on chicken?
But depending on how much you're using each time you cook something with it that less than 1 g of sugar per serving with 397 servings per bottle could actually be quite a bit of sugar if you're really putting it on thick
No rice, damnit. I need give up cheese/dairy for personal health reasons too. suicide is also on my mind.
Tictacs are the specific mass they are because even slightly larger they have round up. They’re solid sugar almost, but they used to (don’t know if they do) round 0.49 grams of carbs to 0.
I’ve cut carbs very low, to about a serving and a half a day (and about 1 serving of fruit a day) and I’ve noticed a difference. I’ll do 1500 calories a day with 600> from carbs and the rest from fat and protein. Can’t imagine going less than that unless I had a sedentary job.
