That dude has FSU flair right? And they’re stuck with Willie Taggart? I’d think figuring out how the hell they let that happen would dominate their private board, not UCF.
They already discussed how to get rid of him but it’s not the 1800s anymore and it’s a hate crime now
He had the best game by a qb for ucf all season. 350 passings yds, 2 TDs, 4 rushing Tds. Basically played like Can Newton.
Lol Is this going to be like that time you tried to talk shit to me about how little I’m around on the forums? I don’t know who any of you fuckers are. Dude might be rocking Aaron Hernandez as a user name but he’s got FSU flair. But if it’s UF then y’alls private board ought to be dedicated to how you were turned down 3 teams before settling on Mullen.
nice. I just watched highlights. dare i say he reminds me of BJ Daniels from usf? My point is that I view CFB as playoffs or bust. The season is over. No real reason to take a big gamble and play the Gators. I guess you could argue that a win would be huge for your program and the backup qb is just as good (although I'm seeing now it was a come from behind win over Mephis). IDK, I think this is the better bowl.
Part of what the playoff has done is further promote that mentality — playoff or bust. Whatever comes next really needs to figure out how to make champ games and bowl games relevant. Same 6-8 teams every year for a prolonged period of time is probably the biggest reason it’ll expand/change.
Maybe strictly by rankings #5 vs #6 and #7 vs #8 and so on and so forth. Ohio State vs Georgia Michigan vs UCF Washington vs Florida LSU vs Penn State
Anything to remove subjectivity is a good thing, imo. To that end though it’s not so much the format as it is how teams are selected. The whole thing was doomed the moment the CFP ditched the computers and made their own secretive poll conducted by sitting ADs. At this point s&p+ would make more sense than what we’ve got.
One would think, but when it’s a name of a player people are embarrassed by and the eyes are crossed off on the avatar, plus the FSU flair... not exactly a dead giveaway unless you’re around enough to know the personalities. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
And uh that doesn't describe Florida. It's almost as if Kentucky has had the more recent good win (actually beating Missouri) than Florida. Body of work ... Recency....Florida is massively overrated
I get that he is a good personality and leader on the team but fuck, he just looks lost on so many snaps
Mack was solid. Missed a couple of throws early and had two fumbles, but he really settled in in the second half. I think they came out pretty conservative with him to start, which is totally understandable. Also, saw Dontari Poe on the sidelines. That is one large human being.
Oh no, I saw a bunch of replies in this thread and thought we might be discussing something interesting but they were all shit. Do we really need the new money Florida Gators in here?
I don't think he looks lost as much as he thinks he's a lot faster than he actually is. like he will hit a gap thinking he's disruptive but the runner is already gone.
Mack being so big is great on short yardage and near the endzone. Nice to not have to watch 160lb rbs in those situations anymore.
Some of them are okay. But I highly recommend putting Boo Mfer on ignore. But hey, maybe this time he won’t respond like a total douchebag 50 times in a team thread he “doesn’t give a shit about”
Jasinski reminds of Posluzsny, former linebacker for the Jags. He was by far the weakest starter on the defense but started because he was the “emotional leader”
You right, won’t talk about what goes on in the private board anymore. It’s just frustrating because we own them on there.
I know who he is, I just didn’t really understand the comparison. Poz is my all-time favorite PSU player. He lost a step after tearing his knee up his junior year in the Orange Bowl. Still one of the most instinctive LBs to come out in awhile.
Pretty crazy our players are openly disappointed to be playing LSU in a major game. We've come so far.
So are we going to call him Darriel or DJ? The switch between the 2 makes no sense. Obviously I’m team initials
Rodger Sherman for the Ringer has been awesome in pieces about us the past couple years. Be in a Power Conference For the second season in a row, UCF went undefeated this year. Twelve games, 12 wins, no losses. The Knights haven’t lost a game since the 2016 Cure Bowl. They beat every single team they played by double digits—their closest game was a 31-30 win against Memphis, but UCF got a rematch in their conference championship game Saturday, and pasted the Tigers 56-41 despite an injury to starting quarterback McKenzie Milton. They did everything asked of them. Spoiler And yet again UCF wasn’t even discussed as a potential option by the playoff committee. Committee chair Rob Mullens said that Georgia, Ohio State, and Oklahoma were all in the mix for the fourth and final spot, but UCF wasn’t even in the top six. The Knights didn’t even get a polite explanation for their exclusion. They weren’t even considered. The committee might be inconsistent in many things, but it has been steadfast in systematically depressing the rankings of teams from outside the power conferences. (This shouldn’t come as a surprise because, after all, the committee is run by the power conferences.) If a team can win 25 games in a row and not even be top six, it’s clear that there is no conceivable path for a non-power team to make the playoff. This sucks. One of my favorite things about college football is the sheer variety; there are 130 teams with their own idiosyncrasies and quirks. And the committee has made it clear that from Day 1, roughly half of these teams can do nothing to make the playoff—even if they win every game this year, and even if they win every game next year. Non-power conference teams are in perpetual purgatory. The sport would be more interesting if every team had a chance to play for the title, but the conferences that organize the playoff are too scared by the possibility of splitting their pie with the have-nots to even let UCF be considered. They have let their cowardice and greed supplant what is best for the sport. I hope UCF wins its bowl game and continues to win every game for as long as it takes for the committee to give up the sham.
